Hi everyone,

I cannot begin to say how grateful I am for your support the last couple of years. It has been both my honor and my passion to help you turn your spaces into the ones you’ve always dreamed of, and I hope to be back before too long.

For now, I’ll be staying in the Nashville area as I step into a corporate role in commercial drafting, and I couldn’t be more excited for this next chapter. Thank you again for trusting me with your homes and your visions — it has truly meant the world.

When you’re planning a space, the first thing you need to prioritize is flow.

How is someone going to flow through a room?

How does one area connect to the next?

If the flow isn’t right, even a beautifully designed space will feel awkward when you're sitting in it. The way to identify the flow is to support the natural movement one might take through the room.

It doesn’t matter if it’s a big, beautiful kitchen or a tiny little office space. Flow will be found wherever people go.

Adding architectural elements like built-in bookshelves, feature walls, or exposed beams can bring it, plus a whole lot more personality, making the space feel custom-designed rather than cookie-cutter.

You can plan these elements with strictly functionality or decoration in mind, or you can strike the balance and implement both, depending on what your goals are for a space.

That’s why it’s so important to do some preemptive space planning to make sure it all comes out perfectly.

They give off even, face-level light, so you’re not dealing with weird shadows while getting ready. Plus, they just look so clean and modern, which adds a little extra style to this bathroom especially.

Negative space isn’t “wasted”.

It’s the empty or open area in a layout that surrounds and balances the functional parts of a room, like walls, built-ins, or furniture. It’s actually one of the most important elements of a design.

Negative space gives a room breathing room, making it feel open, inviting, and easy to move through. Without it, a space can quickly feel cramped or overcrowded, no matter how well the other elements are designed.

I’m always thinking about how to use negative space – it’s just as important as the parts you fill!

Backsplash can easily make or break your kitchen, but it can also determine your style. For example, this simple white tile combined with the white cabinetry and neutral wood countertop gives off a clean, neutral, minimalist feel.
