Vanderbilt House Design Direction, Part 3: Tailored Fieldstone

This direction gives modern farmhouse design a more architectural point of view — stronger millwork, balanced contrast, classic materials, and a more structured, polished feeling.

Best for homeowners who want a home that feels enduring, tailored, and quietly sophisticated — with more definition and architectural presence.

Clear direction makes every decision easier.

A beautiful portfolio matters.

But when you’re hiring an interior designer for a renovation, it should not be the only thing you evaluate.

Renovation work requires planning, documentation, communication, coordination, and the ability to guide decisions before they affect cost, timing, and construction.

Our new guide, “How to Choose an Interior Designer for a Renovation: Questions That Protect Your Investment,” walks through what homeowners should ask before hiring a designer for a major renovation or new construction project.

Vanderbilt House Design Direction, Part 2: Salt Meadow

This direction brings a lighter, airier interpretation to modern farmhouse design — coastal influence, pale woods, soft whites, woven textures, and a relaxed sense of ease.

Best for homeowners who want a home that feels fresh, open, and coastal-influenced — without feeling themed or overly casual.

Clear direction makes every decision easier.

Vanderbilt House Design Direction, Part 1: Quiet Harvest

This direction explores a warmer, more grounded approach to modern farmhouse design — soft contrast, natural textures, creamy neutrals, and a quietly refined feeling throughout the home.

Best for homeowners who want a home that feels warm, settled, and comfortable from the start — without becoming rustic or overly traditional.

Clear direction makes every decision easier.

Before a renovation becomes drawings, selections, and construction decisions, it needs one thing first: a clear design direction.

For this modern farmhouse concept study, we explored three distinct paths — each with its own mood, colors, textures, and way of shaping how the home could feel.

Swipe through to explore the three directions and see how the same home can tell very different design stories.

Design direction first. Details second. Fewer regrets later.

A successful renovation is shaped long before construction begins.

The earlier the design is studied, documented, priced, and coordinated, the fewer decisions need to be made under pressure later.

Our updated guide, “Interior Design for Home Renovations: The Step-by-Step Process That Prevents Expensive Changes,” walks through the planning process from early consultation through final installation.

There’s something special about installation day — when months of planning, coordination, and countless decisions finally come together.

Yesterday, my client walked into her home at Theso Residence and said:
“I am so happy. I could cry. It is even better than my wildest dream.”

And the best part? We’re not even finished yet.

This is why I do what I do. Not just to create beautiful homes, but to create that feeling — when everything finally feels right.

A heartfelt thank you to the incredible vendors and collaborators who helped bring this project to life. Your craftsmanship and attention to detail truly made the difference.

More to come soon.
