I’m a girl who loves a small business. I’m a girl who loves a good downtown. I’m a girl who loves a little history, a lot of character, vintage treasures, and a main street lined with locally owned shops. ❤️

So naturally, for my birthday weekend, we headed to Downtown McKinney, Texas! 🥂✨ this place is also where we will soon call our new home 🏡!!

Give me historic buildings, cute storefronts, antique shops, MY FAMILY along my side, good food, and a downtown that makes you want to slow down and stay awhile. And because I can’t go anywhere without a little treasure hunting… YES, I hit an estate sale, too. 😂🙌🏼 Because apparently, birthday 🎂 girl mode still includes rescuing vintage treasures!

There’s just something about a town that celebrates its history, supports its small businesses, and has a little soul.

McKinney, you were a good. ❤️

Now excuse me while I figure out where I’m putting all the things I absolutely did not need but obviously couldn’t leave behind. 🤣

Here’s my monthly recap yall have come to love! September… I am SO glad you’re gone. 😂

18+ triple-digit days. An average temperature of 103.3°. Dry, brutally hot, and definitely not the kind of weather that makes people want to get out and shop.

🖤💕Thankfully, online sales floated me through.

But here’s the part that blows my mind: September 2025, in the exact same square footage, same building, same town, same effort, was a $3,400 deficit.

That’s retail. That’s business. After 22 years, I know there will be great months and ugly months. You just have to be prepared for both.

Maybe together we can figure it out.

The good news? October 🎉is here. Fourth Quarter is foing to make up for it- i know it! Rent is paid by first day of sales this month. The weather is cooler🍂🍁. And we’re going to do better this month. I just know it. And before you buy from a billionaire corporation maybe think about shopping 🛍️ small!

Once a month, we throw a bunch of vintage shops together, let the chips fall where they may, and see what kind of vintage magic happens. 😂 it’s always incredible and different!

There are FOUR shops per hour, three hours of vintage goodness, and one very simple rule for every shop:

BRING YOUR PERSONALITY.

We’ll be taking requests, digging through our treasures, laughing, chatting, and showing you whatever we’ve been rescuing, resurrecting, and collecting lately.

And honestly? We have NO IDEA what each shop is going to show up with—and that’s half the fun. 😉

Resurrection Vintage Studio is bringing you our monthly Resurrection Exchange—but this month, we’re doing things a little differently.

Because behind every vintage shop is a person.

🤎Flat Lay Friday 🍂

The season of pumpkins, cozy meals, turkey dinners, and all the good stuff is officially upon us! 🧡 And while we wait for those leaves to start showing off, we’re going to bring a little bit of that fall color palette right into today’s flat lay.

You’ll find some of the staples of the vintage world — Royal Dalton, Wedgwood, Johnson’s Bros., Memory Lane, and more — alongside a few pieces that are just plain FUN.

✨ A collector’s dream stash of marbles
🦃 A fabulous turkey tureen WITH the ladle, because obviously we’re going all in
🎃 The sweetest little pumpkins for your mantel, bookshelf, or wherever you need a little fall magic
🍁 And plenty of those rich, warm colors that make a house feel like HOME.

Fall doesn’t have to mean everything is orange and covered in pumpkins… but I’m certainly not opposed to a little of both. 😂

Horse Brasses 🐎✨

Okay, let’s talk about horse brasses, because these little pieces of English 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿history are WAY cooler than they first appear.

Traditionally made in England, horse brasses were decorative brass plaques that were attached to the harnesses of working horses—especially those big, beautiful draft horses pulling carts and wagons.

And they weren’t just pretty.

Some were believed to offer protection from the evil eye and evil spirits, while others were used to show off a particular horse, trade, event, pub, brewery, or place. You’ll find everything from horseshoes and lucky symbols to animals, royal commemorations, landmarks, and all kinds of wonderfully specific designs.

And then there’s my favorite part…

As working horses eventually disappeared from everyday life, these brasses found a second life hanging from leather straps on the walls of British pubs, where they became part of that wonderfully collected, layered, lived-in English look.

Today, collectors use them in all sorts of ways—and YES, you can absolutely wear one. 😉. Check out Selina’s curation of her swan 🦢 - swooning !!!

I love 💕 pieces like this because they aren’t just vintage decor. They’re little survivors. They were made for a purpose, used, loved, and then resurrected into something completely different.

And there are SO many styles and motifs to collect. 🐎

Well, that is EXACTLY what I’ve done over the past three days, and y’all… the Magpie booth is practically unrecognizable! 🤩

It’s NEW.
It’s FRESH.
It’s REARRANGED.
And it is PACKED with all the things you’ve been looking for to decorate your home or office—or to start knocking out that Christmas shopping! 🎄🎁

The plate wall is GONE… and we now have an ART GALLERY WALL. 🖼️

The fill-a-bag and matches are still hanging out on the backside of the black hutch, but now we’ve added a BASKET WATERFALL and so many other fun little surprises.
