It's likely this year I will do a couple of strictly chosen events. No matter how much I "quit" I keep picking up those perler tweezers because I get bored, inspired, or both. What are some things you might want to see? 😆

My Thoughts on the cancelation of Art Walk:

As someone who regularly set up for Art Walk for a while; I dont think it should be canceled but I agree with reform for the event. I stopped setting up because it no longer felt like it was centered around art or creativity anymore, rather just drinking and food trucks(No hate to them, they're just local businesses too). But those were the things that were being promoted the most. It drained the attention away from artists. Yes there's other local events but a lot of the time it's a big gamble for artists because the vendor fees tend to be high and then the event very under promoted. Art Walk felt like you had a fair chance to show people what you created and share appreciation for everyone else's creations. Not to mention the most random things have popped up in the event that aren't even close to art, and the hordes of unruly kids/teens that openly disrespect small businesses and vendors because they have no supervision. This has caused some small businesses to purposely close on the Art Walk because it's more of a loss than a gain.

Art Walk needs a face-lift, but I don't think Downtown Development has shown it any real love from the beginning. Maybe the artists and small businesses could collaborate for something better. 🤷🏽‍♀️

[INDEFINITE HIATUS]

I tried and tried, but now I'm going go have to step back. My health is commanding my full attention and I'm going through some big and sudden changes. Thank you to anyone who's ever supported my lil hobby and if you see me at an event, it'll be because I managed to be one good day outta many hard ones. Even though the sun is setting, it's still beautiful.

Echo~ Hello~ I'm here~

I'm not very good at this social media thing, not one bit. But it's been my usual to go into hibernation as soon as it stops being warm outside. 😂

I have a little bit of news. This year will be my last year to set up consistently for Art Walk. It will potentially also be my last year for any events, or maybe at least for a good while. I don't really know what the future holds.

Behind the scenes I struggle with a chronic illness. Most people don't know because it's not something you can see all the time. Here lately it's been putting it's foot down a little harder.

I started making perler just as a hobby with the kids I worked with. I never thought of myself as a artist who would sell little creations to other people but I took a leap and tried it out. I was surprised at how many people loved it. So thanks to everyone who gave me a chance, bought, or even looked at anything I made. I'm grateful and I hope the other artist friends out there that I've encountered grow bigger and bigger. You all are so cool! Special thanks to Z0mbietreat because she's literally the coolest person I've met in a while and even took some of my stuff to display on her table for me. She's the real MVP. Yall better support her. Also my favorite folks at Texoma eSports. Always nothing but fun being a vendor at their events.

Just so you all know, I am not quitting. I am going to give it my best shot this year and attend what I can, and then I will revisit how I feel about it, and see how my health is holding up. So I hope you will support me!

That's all I gotta say. Thanks for reading my long winded post.
