I am home and taking appointments for tomorrow afternoon!
Update on house…they are making a run to Lowe’s for the remaining pickets for the step railing and I will return to stain it. Tv is installed (thank you Robert for the electrical work to facilitate this). New furnace on order for installation. Clint is putting up guttering and replacing the wood on the exterior enclosed porch (right side of the house) Awaiting estimate on window repairs. Upcoming….kitchen remodel..save the solid maple cabinets. The list goes on and on….

Day #6 working vacation in Virginia…. The bathroom is 98% complete and we love it. Totally worth the extra time to change my original paint color. Before photo in the comments.

On working vacation day #5… Clint and Robert are knocking out the front porch rebuild! I finished staining trim, washed bedrooms doors,helped pull rebar buried in the ground.Mike painted trim and made a Lowe’s run. Kathy and I are on a mission for clean windows. And the Furnace Man came up and we are getting a new furnace.

You-all… I’m on a working vacation (appointments commencing next Monday afternoon) so day #4. Kathy & Mike arrived last night to help and Mike met the internet guy at 0800…cause a guy’s got to have a TV (which we don’t have yet). The window man came after that and the good news is they only need to replace one and the others can be repaired! Estimate to follow… and we all went to town to shop. Lumber is now on site for the porch, most of the gutter pieces, accessories for the bathroom, curtain rods and some curtains….still no living room furniture. I stained trim and Robert and Clint worked on some electric….we will never be done….

Day #3, started with an unexpected visitor at the air bnb…see video. I repainted the bathroom, we trimmed trees, burned the resulting burn pile, Robert attached the new heating vents and sealed the back deck, Clint finished the faucet install on the vanity, trip to Lowe’s for trim, stain, paint, assorted stuff. Thank you to Mona Lee for bringing us cookies and lunch ❤️

Day 2, I finished painting the bathroom and it is not the color I had in mind…will try changing light bulbs tomorrow before starting over. Robert installed the floor, Clint put in the toilet, they lifted the vanity onto the water lines while my back seized up trying to guide the pipes into those holes in the bottom. The heating vents got cleaned and we can reset the vent covers now. A pleasant 68 degrees here on the mountain with a slight breeze.

We were greeted at the house this morning by a variety of animals, wild and domestic. The bathroom paint has commenced, beds are assembled, the first throw rug is down. Two ceiling fans and a light fixture are up. The medicine cabinet hole in the bathroom wall is filled in. A run to Lowe’s for more supplies is scheduled for in the morning while I add one more coat to the bathroom.

An early morning 0300, delayed flight out of Wichita, delayed flight out of Dallas…that rental is not the truck I reserv...
