🔥 NEW VIDEO IN PRODUCTION! 🔥

Today, MrFlavorsmith and Mini Flavorsmith put a modified Weber Go Anywhere charcoal grill to the test! 🏕️🔥

After converting this little portable charcoal grill into a true two-zone cooking system, we used it as a mini smoker and loaded it with lump charcoal and cherry wood chips for its first real smoked shrimp challenge. 🍤🌳

The shrimp were seasoned with a flavorful combination of:
🍋 Tequila Lime
🌶️ Sweet Hungarian Paprika
🧂 Additional seasonings for a layered flavor profile

Then it was time to let the cherry wood smoke work its magic. 💨🔥

The result? We were honestly surprised by just how good these shrimp turned out. They came off the smoker juicy, smoky, and packed with flavor. Even Mini Flavorsmith approved! 😋

In fact, after we finished filming, my four-year-old co-host enjoyed them so much that he asked for a whole bowl of shrimp all for himself! 🍤😂

Sometimes the best test of a recipe isn’t what the camera says—it’s what happens after the camera stops rolling.

Stay tuned for this one. This little portable smoker might be a lot more capable than anyone expected. 🔥🍤🏕️

⛽️🔥 Monday. Back to the grind.

I can’t say I’m any different, but this Monday starts with getting ready for our upcoming family mountain adventure to Big Bear, California. 🏔️🌲☕

That means it’s time to prep the gear that helps make those adventures happen.

Today I’m topping off my 1-pound propane Fuel Keg using the Mr. Heater Propane Refill Station, which allows me to refill them directly from a standard 20-pound propane tank. With the refill fitting, each tank takes about 60 seconds to fill. Fast, easy, and incredibly convenient. 👌

These little propane tanks get used constantly around here:

🔥 My BBQ torch for backyard cooking
☕ My portable stove for Coffee with MrFlavorsmith
🍔 My Weber Go-Anywhere propane grill
🏕️ Camping trips and mountain adventures with the family

And before anyone asks, I’m not affiliated with Mr. Heater in any way. They don’t sponsor me, and I don’t earn a penny if you buy their products.

I’m simply a customer who’s been using their gear, and it has made my entire propane workflow so much easier. Having refillable tanks means I’m always ready to go, whether it’s brewing coffee outside, firing up the grill, or heading into the mountains.

One of the biggest benefits? 🌎♻️

I’m no longer throwing away those disposable 1-pound propane cylinders all the time. I bought these once, and now I refill and reuse them over and over again. Less waste, less hassle, and more convenience.

Honestly, I can’t recommend this setup enough.

And while we’re on the subject, their portable camping and fishing heaters are absolutely fantastic too. If you’ve spent any time outdoors in cold weather, you know how valuable dependable heat can be. 🔥❄️

A little preparation today means more memories tomorrow.

🏔️ Take me to the mountains.

☕🔥 Coffee with MrFlavorsmith 🔥☕

This morning’s lesson?

Great coffee is all about patience, precision, and practice.

Switching from a blade grinder to a fully adjustable hand grinder completely changed my pour-over experience. Better extraction, smoother flavor, and no clogged filter.

I’m still not drinking it completely black yet—I’ll admit, a little sugar-free creamer still found its way into the cup. 😄

But every cup is teaching me something new, and I’m starting to understand why coffee enthusiasts obsess over fresh beans, grind size, water temperature, and technique.

Next mission: finding some truly fresh-roasted beans from a local roaster.

The journey continues.

🔥 Chillin’ by the Fire 🔥

Today’s title comes from Mini Flavorsmith, aka Everett. 👦❤️

As the day winds down and the evening settles in 🌅, we’re kicked back beside the fire pit 🔥 with an extra dirty martini in hand 🍸, watching the flames dance across the blue fire glass 💎.

The fire crackles. The wind blows softly through the backyard 🌬️🌴. The world seems to slow down for a little while.

Behind us, the 26-inch Weber Kettle is doing its thing ♨️🥩.

A pair of steaks are steadily working their way toward target temperature 🌡️, soaking in the aroma of hot hardwood charcoal briquettes 🪵. Soon they’ll make their final trip directly over the glowing coals for that perfect reverse sear 🔥🥩.

But tonight isn’t really about the steak.

It’s about the conversation.

Mini Flavorsmith, aka Everett 👦, stands beside me talking about the things he likes, the things he wants, and all the adventures he’s dreaming up in that four-year-old imagination of his.

Together we watch the flames dance.

We listen to the wind.

We smell the barbecue.

We enjoy the moment.

The steaks will be gone tomorrow.

The fire will eventually burn out.

But memories like these last forever.

Sometimes the best part of barbecue isn’t the food.

It’s the people standing beside the grill.

☕🔥 Happy Father’s Day Weekend to all the dads out there putting in the work.

For many people, Father’s Day weekend is all about slowing down. For me, it’s another weekend on the grind—and honestly, I’m okay with that.

This morning started early producing and creating content for my new Coffee with MrFlavorsmith series. ☕🎥 What started with content creation has now turned into a day of editing and preparing for what’s ahead tomorrow.

On Father’s Day, I’ll be co-hosting two podcast episodes and filming a new MrFlavorsmith backyard cooking video with my youngest son, Mini Flavorsmith (aka Mini Barbecue). 🔥🎥

Even better, both of my boys—Mini Flavorsmith and Junior Flavorsmith—will be joining me as guests on one of the podcasts. That’s about as perfect a Father’s Day as I can imagine.

There’s something special about seeing your kids catch the same BBQ bug that you have. They’ve fallen in love with grilling, barbecue, content creation, and spending time with Dad around the fire and around the grill. ❤️🔥

To all the fathers out there: whether you’re spending the weekend relaxing, working, building a business, raising a family, chasing a dream, or doing all of the above—keep going.

It’s okay to grind. It’s okay to build. It’s okay to pursue something you’re passionate about while showing your kids what’s possible through hard work, dedication, and consistency.

Happy Father’s Day to all the dads out there. 🍻👊🔥

☕🔥 Coffee with MrFlavorsmith – Friday Morning Reflections 🔥☕

The end of the week is finally here… and honestly, it’s my favorite time of the week.

The boys are excited. MrsFlavorsmith and I have been busy working all week. Life moves fast, responsibilities stack up, schedules get packed, and stress has a way of sneaking in. But weekends mean family time, a chance to slow down, recharge, and enjoy the moments that matter most.

Before the weekend officially kicks off and the sun rises, I wanted to start the morning with a good cup of coffee.

Today’s coffee journey was a big step forward.

For the first time, I attempted to truly enjoy a higher-quality black coffee. I upgraded from a simple electric blade grinder to a fully adjustable hand grinder, and the difference was immediately noticeable. Being able to dial in the grind size prevented my pour-over filter from clogging, improved extraction, and allowed the coffee grounds to saturate evenly without over-extracting.

What I’ve learned over the past few days is that coffee is far more than just pouring hot water over beans.

It’s timing.

It’s temperature.

It’s grind size.

It’s flow rate.

It’s patience.

It’s precision.

It’s an art form.

The more I learn, the more I realize that great coffee isn’t an accident. To truly master it, you need to pay attention to the details—the exact grams of coffee going into the grinder, the ideal water temperature, the proper grind size, and the speed at which the water flows through the coffee bed.

I never imagined something as simple as a morning cup of coffee could have so much depth behind it.

Now, I’ll be honest…

I still ended up adding some sugar-free creamer. 😄

But that’s okay.

This journey isn’t about perfection. It’s about progress.

I’m starting to realize that finding a healthier creamer alternative might be the bridge that helps me eventually reach my goal of fully enjoying black coffee—something I’ve never been able to do in over 25 years of daily coffee drinking.

And here’s the kicker…

These weren’t even freshly roasted beans.

They’ve been sitting on a grocery store shelf for who knows how long. Every experienced coffee enthusiast I’ve talked to says it all starts with the bean itself.

So that’s my next mission.

I’m going to seek out a local coffee roaster, get my hands on some truly fresh-roasted beans, and see just how much of a difference that makes.

The journey continues.

Enjoy your weekend, everybody. Spend time with your family, slow down when you can, and appreciate the little moments.

🔥 THIS is one of those videos you’re not gonna want to miss! 🔥

Watch a full Weber kettle transformation from absolutely filthy 😳 to clean, shiny, and ready for many more cooks. From sauce-covered, grease-caked, carbon-crusted grill grates to polished stainless steel, I walk you through the entire process step-by-step.

Years of grease, oils, sugars, smoke residue, and char buildup can accumulate faster than most grillers realize—especially if you’re cooking burgers 🍔, ribs 🍖, chicken 🍗, steaks 🥩, and foods coated in sauces and glazes.

In this video, I’ll show you:

🔥 My lump charcoal burnout method
🪣 My 24-hour grill grate soaking process
🧼 The cleaning solutions I use to loosen stubborn grease, oils, sugars, and carbon buildup
🪥 The brushes and tools that make cleanup easier
✨ How I restore my stainless steel grates back to a beautiful shine
🧹 How and why I clean out my kettle bowl and ash system

This isn’t a quick wipe-down. This is a complete deep-cleaning process that helps keep your kettle performing the way it was designed to perform.

💡 With proper maintenance like this, a quality kettle grill can last for decades. Keeping grease, ash, moisture, and buildup under control helps protect critical components, maintain proper airflow, improve temperature control, and extend the life of your grill so you can enjoy years—and potentially decades—of dependable cooking. 🔥

The before-and-after difference is incredible. 🤯

If you own a Weber kettle—or any charcoal grill for that matter—this is maintenance that can improve airflow, temperature control, grill longevity, and your overall cooking experience.

🔥 Clean grill.
🔥 Better airflow.
🔥 Better performance.
🔥 Longer grill life.
🔥 Better flavor.

Check out the transformation and let me know how often you deep-clean your kettle! 👇

Full video coming later this week.
