A quick glimpse of this MCM, collectible, green glass ashtray, creates flashbacks that only those in our age bracket can comprehend. Ashtrays might get more attention and comments than any other piece. Do people still buy these? Oh wow, an ashtray! I haven’t seen one of these in years! My _____ had one just like this. They pick it up, give it a good look, flip it over, look more, set it back down and just stare. Instantly, it brings back all the feels of how magical it was to grow up in the 70s - sleepovers with grandma watching Hee Haw, drinking from the hose pipe, the back back of the wood grain station wagon with the window down, roller skating, first family pet (Brandy, Rover, Lady, Sparky, Tiger, Kitty, Fluffy), riding Schwinn bikes for miles and hours, Saturday morning cartoons sitting on the freshly raked, s**g carpet 18” from the TV that was a piece of furniture, the toy section in the Sears catalog, unstable swing sets, steaming hot metal slides, 8 tracks, Tang, sleeping in pink curlers under an electric bonnet hair dryer all night for Sunday school and church. The list of memories is endless. Buy the ashtray - it’s more than a catch-all.
