It’s not Thursday, but this a throwback to a project we did during C*vid (cause we all want to forget). Stenciled wall, custom leather sofa (we designed fully in-house, bold move on our part but we had a vision). Lots of global textiles. Oh and real arrowheads on the walls. Causal, but intriguing.

Sometimes small spaces can make an impact. And it certainly did for this powder bath! We took home an award from Austin Home! Low relief tile, handmade solid brass sink and petite mirror make for a stunning combo.

Guys, I have a secret. I’m terrible at social media. I am so devoted to our projects that social media falls by the wayside… and as such, we were named one of Austin’s Best Interior Designers and I’m just now getting this out. It is a privilege to be named. Every day I step into the office I’m thankful - for clients, for hard working dedicated staff, for my husband who is my cheerleader behind the scenes, to do what I LOVE every day.

Swipe for awkward shots of me holding up chairs, staff shots, project snippets and sketches… cause that’s what this gig encompasses. We wear many hats.

Palette for our Bali inspired residence. We started with the rug, hand knotted oushak, and used that as our jumping off point. Mixing texture, depth and light contrast lends a softer, causal feel to the furnishings.

I have a confession…my bed never looks like my clients. I have a long bedspread that I throw over top, two euro sized pillows get slapped on and I call it a day. I’m sure in the future I will neatly make the bed, point the corners of the pillows and nicely add a bolster pillow. But for now, my method is “how quickly I can I get this over with”. Anyone else out there? 🤞

Throw back to a contemporary project we did years go. Clients with great taste certainly help! I love how this mirror plays with perspective and angles, offset by the asymmetry of the simple sconce. It’s about composition.

One of the critical components to think about when specifying cabinets is the wood grain and cut. Tight grain or wide grain pattern. Here we turned a previous awkward space behind the kitchen into a mini butlers pantry with hidden coffee nook. Often in renovations you have to ask “what if”. What if those cabinets were full height, what if we made a hidden coffee area… what if…

Did I mention we are huge fans of hand crafted tile? Here our client wanted to represent her work as quilter, with some pink she asked. We did a custom mural on the main wall, creating a unique pattern and adding life to the primary bath. (Full scale art!) We added the pink touch by using a pencil trim. Our amazing builder made sure the tile design was placed exactly centered. Because, let’s be honest, proper ex*****on is the other half of this industry.

We made a change in construction, which is not often for us, but sometimes opportunities present themselves and you have to jump. This was going to be a quartzite slab, but when you meet an artisan who is so skilled at his craft, you have to go all in. This is us going all in. Full wall and details coming…

Site visits days. Takes me back to when I was 10 year old, walking job sites in our newly developed neighborhood, assessing details, and pointing out tweaks. Expect now I get paid for it. 😜
