This pantry was only about 22 inches wide — but the width wasn’t even the biggest surprise.
When my client sent me her consultation video, there was so much packed into the pantry that neither one of us could tell it only had TWO shelves. Once we cleared everything out, I also discovered those shelves weren’t secured to the wall.
So the original plan had to change completely.
Instead, I reworked the pantry around the vertical space we had, especially that open area at the bottom. We used stackable black containers with handles so they were easy to move, easy to label, and much easier on the eyes.
And honestly, the opaque design was a bonus. When everything inside a container isn’t perfectly lined up, you don’t see all of that visual clutter. The pantry still looks clean and intentional.
We also found an adorable book/magazine holder that turned out to be the perfect solution for storing her plastic plates upright.
This is why organizing is about more than buying bins. Sometimes the space reveals a completely different problem once you empty it — and that’s when you have to rethink the plan.
Small pantry. Big difference.
