Egyptian Faience from Akhenaten’s time (circa 1350 BC) was a colorful, glazed ceramic used for jewelry and decorations. Faience was crafted by mixing ground quartz with alkali and was often shaped into amulets, jewelry, and decorative plaques. This colorful, glazed ceramic material, was used extensively for both ornamental and functional items. Faience was originally vibrant blue fading to green and then white over time. Popular in Amarna, it often featured sun disk symbols, reflecting the king’s religious changes. This vibrant art combined beauty with royal messaging.
