For over 50 years, this property has been part of the fabric of Halifax, shaped by its waterfront, its people, and its evolving identity. Reimagining it wasn’t about starting over. It was about understanding what it has meant to this community, and what it needs to become moving forward.

Behind the Design | Aruba Ocean Club
Lobby Renovation

A thoughtful transformation is not always about starting over, it’s about seeing potential in what already exists.

For the Aruba Ocean Club lobby renovation, our approach was rooted in balance: introducing a fresh, island-inspired perspective while strategically retaining existing architectural stains, millwork, and select artwork to align with budget goals.

Rather than compromise the vision, these elements became part of the story, reimagined through updated finishes, new partitions, layered textures, and a lighter, more contemporary Caribbean palette that reflects the effortless beauty of Aruba.

Just as important, the reconfiguration of the space enhances flow and elevates the guest experience, with thoughtfully varied seating options that support everything from casual arrivals to relaxed gathering moments.

The result is a space that feels entirely renewed, yet intentionally grounded, proof that great design isn’t always about more, but about making the right moves in the right places.

Completion anticipated Spring 2027.

The visual language reflects the coastline in motion, fluid lines, layered textures, and tonal shifts that mirror the rhythm of the ocean and the evolving energy of the Virginia Beach Oceanfront.

The sound reflects the feeling, light, modern, and effortlessly coastal. The atmosphere carries a sense of creativity, optimism, and forward momentum, grounded in community, yet always evolving.

Designed to capture a destination that continues to redefine itself, where music, culture, and experience intersect in new ways.

Because at Virginia Beach, arrival isn't just about slowing down. It's about stepping into something that's still unfolding.

Looking ahead to completion in May 2027.
