🛏️ WHAT’S INSIDE YOUR MATTRESS MATTERS!
Ever wonder why two mattresses can look almost identical but feel completely different? 🤔 It often comes down to foam density and coil construction.
🧽 FOAM DENSITY
Foam density tells you how much material is packed into the foam, not simply how “soft” or “firm” it is.
🔹 Lower-density foam
• Usually lighter and more responsive
• Can feel softer and less substantial
• Often used in comfort layers or more budget-friendly mattresses
🔹 Higher-density foam
• More material packed into each cubic foot
• Generally feels more substantial and supportive
• Often provides better resistance to body impressions and wear
Important: Higher density doesn't automatically mean a mattress is more comfortable. The type of foam, thickness, firmness, and overall construction all matter!
🌀 COILS MATTER TOO!
Not all coils are created equal!
🔹 Traditional/Innerspring Coils – Connected coils that provide a more traditional, supportive feel and good airflow.
🔹 Pocketed Coils – Individual coils move more independently, helping reduce motion transfer while providing targeted support.
🔹 Coil Count Isn't Everything! - A mattress with more coils isn't automatically better. Wire gauge, coil design, height, and the quality of the materials surrounding the coils all play a role.
🛌 SO WHAT SHOULD YOU LOOK FOR?
Don't shop by price, coil count, or foam density alone. Look at the WHOLE MATTRESS, the foam layers, coil system, thickness, materials, construction, and most importantly, how it feels to YOU.
