What an incredible weekend we had at Stringers Yacht Center in Colonial Beach!

From the moment we arrived, the new ownership made everyone feel welcome with their outstanding hospitality. It truly set the tone for a fantastic weekend.

We kicked things off Friday evening with a special thank you to Prince William Marina for sponsoring a wonderful Happy Hour. Great drinks, great conversation, and some fantastic giveaways made for the perfect start to the trip.

Saturday morning, Dockside treated our group to a delicious catered brunch that had everyone fueled up and ready to enjoy the day.

After brunch, everyone headed off to explore Colonial Beach at their own pace. Whether it was enjoying homemade ice cream, relaxing with a flaming margarita, browsing the local shops, or simply taking in the waterfront, there was something for everyone. It was fun hearing everyone’s stories and seeing how each crew spent the day.

Sunday wrapped up the weekend with the annual Father’s Day Car Show, which was a favorite for many of our members and the perfect way to end the trip before heading home.

We truly couldn’t have asked for a better weekend. Beautiful weather, great friends, and another memorable PWYC cruise made this one for the books.

A big thank you to everyone who joined us, and to Stringers Yacht Center, Dockside, and Prince William Marina for helping make the weekend such a success. We can’t wait for the next adventure!

From early mornings on the water to unforgettable family cruises, dockside laughs, and making memories that last a lifetime, thank you for everything you do both on and off the water.

⚓️ PWYC TAKES OVER THE TIDES INN! ⚓️
What an absolutely unforgettable weekend! The Prince William Yacht Club officially showed up and took over the marina at The Tides Inn, and the resort could not have been more beautiful. The weather gods were definitely watching over us for those two days, granting us beautifully calm seas on the trip both down and home. In fact, the Bay was the absolute calmest I have ever seen it, which was a massive blessing since we had a few first-timers venturing out onto the Bay for the first time. We truly couldn't have asked for better conditions to welcome them, complete with calm winds and a pod of dolphins playing right in our wake. It was picture-perfect from start to finish.

When we weren't on the water, we were making the absolute most of the weekend. We spent plenty of time hanging by the pool, catching up over drinks, and enjoying some fantastic dinners. One of the absolute highlights was using happy hour to really get to know the club members we hadn't crossed paths with yet.

For those who missed out on this one, make sure to keep a close eye out for next year's dates. This trip was such a home run that it is officially being added to our regular rotation of cruises. Huge thanks to everyone who made the trek and made the weekend so special. Until the next port, cheers! 🥂⛵️

Cruise to Tides Inn with PWYC!

Change of plans = an unexpected opportunity for you! A few of our members unfortunately had to drop out of our upcoming trip to the Tides Inn this weekend (June 5th–7th), which means a few prime spots just opened up.

Here’s the best part: PWYC did a full buyout of the entire marina, so we are going to have the place to ourselves! 🏨⚓️

A huge thank you to the Mount Vernon Yacht Club for the incredible invitation and warm hospitality during your Commissioning Day! 🥂

Even with a stiff breeze blowing through the marina, the sun was out in full force, making for a truly spectacular day. From the tradition of the Commissioning ceremony to the fantastic picnic that followed, every moment reminded us why we love this lifestyle so much.

Our Commodore Mike Strano and Vice Commodore Jason Leydig were formally requested to be at the ceremony along with their wives. It was a proud moment for our club as Mike was an honored guest and invited to make a speech. During his remarks, he shared a heartfelt thank you to the MVYC community and extended an open invitation to everyone: you are always welcome to join us at PWYC! Whether for a formal event or just a friendly visit, our docks are always open to our fellow boaters.

This is exactly what camaraderie on the water is all about. It’s more than just docks and boats; it’s about joining together as one community. We might fly different burgees, but we are all boaters sharing the same beautiful waters and the same passion for the sea. 🌊

We are already looking forward to “joining forces” over the summer! Whether it’s crossing paths on a sunset cruise or lining up for those legendary raft-ups, we can’t wait to make more memories with you all. 🚤🍔

Here’s to a safe, sunny, and wind-at-your-back season ahead!

Wow, what a Saturday night! Our Derby Party was absolutely legendary. Between the mint juleps flowing like water and the high-stakes energy in the room, the Blue Bathhouse felt more like Churchill Downs than the docks!

A huge thank you to everyone who came out and dressed to the nines. You all cleaned up so well, we almost didn’t recognize you without your deck shoes!

🏆 The Winners’ Circle
Best Fascinator: Big cheers to Mandy! That headpiece stole the show and had everyone talking. 🌸👒

Best Dressed: Mary & Craig, you nailed it! Total Derby perfection from head to toe. 👗🎩

The Big Winner: And a special shoutout to Mary, who must’ve had insider info! She picked Golden Tempo to win the 152nd Kentucky Derby and walked away with bragging rights and the winnings. While the rest of us were sipping juleps, she was cashing in! 💸🏇

🐎 Chaos on the “Track”
The real highlight? Our very own club races! We all hopped on our “horses” and let’s just say things got... competitive. There was a lot of cheering, a fair bit of stumbling, and absolutely zero dignity left on the floor by the end of it. Who knew yachties were such natural jockeys? 🏇💨

It’s officially Derby Weekend at the PWYC, and we’re ready to run for the roses! It’s time to dust off those seersucker suits, polish your fascinators, and bring your A-game to the track.

Join us for an afternoon of high stakes and high fashion:
