Searching for that unique gift for a family member or friend that loves craft beer??? I turned a few craft beer cans into candles and gave them out as gifts.

During the 2021 holiday season, I was stuck at home in cold and snowy Chicagoland. Everyone loved the candles so much I figured why not try and sell them. Most of Special K’s BeerCandles are upcycled 12 or 16 ounce craft beer, seltzer, soda, or cider cans with 8 ounces of melted soy wax and fragrance. The bottom half is compacted sand to keep the can weighted down, anchor the wick, and displace th

e heat. Special K's BeerCandles also sells 13 ounce branded glassware and 2.5 ounce soy wax melts. Current Fragrances: Maple Butter, Teakwood, Fresh Linen, Wild Berry, Frasier Fir, Oakmoss, Downtown Bourbon, Sea Salt and Surf, Coastal Cypress, Lilac, Sycamore and Sage, Smoked Birch, Pumpkin Pancakes, Spiced Cider, Peppermint, and Sunflowers and Sunshine for purchase. Price: $25 per 13 ounce branded glassware candles, $18 per 16 ounce candles, and $15 per 12 ounce candles, and $5 for wax melts – Cash, Venmo, or Zelle. Shipping: Free shipping for purchases over $75. Flat $10 shipping for purchase under $75. Pick up is also possible in Woodridge, IL. We love custom orders. CANDLES FOR A CAUSE

Last Thursday Special K's BeerCandles | Craft Beer & Quality Candles participated in our first ever fundraiser with Haiti Scholars at their annual Sip & Support Event.

It was a fulfilling evening and we were able to donate $260 from our sales to support their mission. Thank you to Naper Settlement for providing a wonderful event space and LUDY and his LADY for the entertainment.

Just shy of 7 Years - September 2019 to August 2026

Moving out of our townhome was really difficult last week. I'll forever be grateful that Huntleigh Lane gave me an Emily, a Rosie, and a Rambo. Special K's BeerCandles began right in the kitchen as a COVID craft and thanks to everyone that has supported us, we are getting ready to take the next step in our business.

Other notable differences, better phone camera and newer red Infiniti. Dyna replaced Sunny in 2024 after she was stolen from the Midway Airport Parking Garage.

Still getting situated in the new house. Candle production starting this week.

365 Days since our last blog post...

A lot of amazing things have happened during those 365 days, with a fair share of challenging ones.

This post is meant for those entrepreneurs that are just starting their journey. Those entrepreneurs that haven’t found that one person outside your family and friends that becomes your #1 fan.

This post is also meant to remind us when you have those #1 fans, remeber to thank them. They'll probably never know that you were going through something and their support kept you working on your craft.

So thank you to everyone that let us know about a cool market we should try, everyone that stopped by our booth and told us you love our candles, and everyone that reaches out for a custom order. Those little things keep Special K's BeerCandles creating. Thanks to you!!!
