For those of you who don’t know me this is what I do on the weekends. We bought a modest little farmhouse in Petaluma and spend our time fixing it up and playing with the land. I get outside and get dirty on weekends and this time of year is my favorite. Flowers start to bloom, days get longer, and I start picking flowers and planting the veggies which I hope to feed our guests throughout summer. This is farm life and it’s a wonderful balance to the interiors which we take so seriously during the week.

Anyone else out there love a good antique? I absolutely love what a beautiful piece with history, character, and patina brings to a room. I found this gem of a Biedermeier secretaire on when I first opened our office and I knew I had to have it. It holds some of our supplies much more beautifully than any fast furniture piece could and it’s an extra desk when we need it. I hope this movement towards antiques and more sustainable furnishings endures. It’s something we at MDG can really get behind.
