Hello, it's been a long time. I have struggled to paint lately for so many reasons: one main reason being I have developed arthritis in my neck so it is painful to sit and paint. I guess I have a bit of artist block too. The desire is there, but the will to pick up a brush just isn't. I say this not so anyone will feel sorry, but to put the reality of my situation out there in case someone else feels the same and takes comfort that they are not alone.

I was asked by my husband to paint this piece for my 8-year-old niece. So I sucked up what energy I could and got it done. I am please with the results and she was thrilled too. My niece and my husband designed it together on Hero Forge and then bought the digital file. We printed it on our 3D printer and I painted it for her. I have included a comparison of my paint job to the Hero Forge render.

My niece named her Elga the Awful.

I love wild birds – I'm an amateur birder – so when I saw this mini I had to have it. Not only was it a delight to paint, proceeds from the sale go towards a relief fund for Ukraine. This little guy is Kobzar Soloveiko, a nightingale, which is the national bird of Ukraine. He is available through Reaper Miniatures.
