Stock art can look inexpensive at the beginning. Until the hidden costs start showing up.

Low-resolution files. Limited rights. Extra design hours rebuilding collections. Trying to track down matching artwork six months later only to discover the artist disappeared from the platform entirely.

We’re talking about the real long-term costs manufacturers and retailers run into when building wall decor and home product collections with stock files versus working with an art licensing agency.

Because when a collection succeeds, you need artwork that can grow with it.

Read the latest on why more companies are rethinking the “cheap and easy” route when it comes to art sourcing.

This is peak “our artists will go the extra mile” energy, but make it wholesome and irresistible.

Nathan Larsen out here proving that the perfect shot sometimes requires getting very low to the ground… and very, very close to your subject. In this case, a curious donkey who clearly decided the camera needed a closer inspection.

It’s the kind of moment that says everything about the way our artists work. Patient, present, and fully in it. Waiting for the unexpected to show up and then leaning right into it when it does.

Because sometimes the best images aren’t taken from a distance. They happen when curiosity meets connection, and nobody is in a hurry to step back.

Pure joy. Pure trust. Pure magic in the making.

Thank you, Nathan, for sharing your creativity and joy for photography with us.

There’s something especially charming about vintage botanical style when it’s done with a fresh eye.

Illustrated Garden by Leslie Trimbach mixes detailed florals, fruit studies, and layered patterns in a way that feels collected, cozy, and just a little bit cottagecore without going full grandma’s attic.

We could see this collection everywhere. Recipe journals, kitchen textiles, stationery, gift, wall decor… honestly it just has that “pick it up immediately” energy.

Also, can we talk about that dark floral pattern paired with the soft vintage illustrations? So good.

Would you use this look in your kitchen or somewhere else in the home?

Interiors are getting moodier, and it is a shift we are seeing everywhere right now.

We are moving away from safe neutrals into artwork with more emotion, including hazy landscapes, dramatic florals, tonal abstracts, and richer more atmospheric palettes. Spaces are starting to feel less styled and more felt.

It is not just home decor either. You can see the same direction showing up in fashion, editorial styling, and the way interiors are being photographed right now.

For manufacturers and retailers, this is a strong opportunity. This kind of artwork scales beautifully across wall decor, textiles, wallpaper, and tabletop, making it easy to build cohesive story-driven collections.

Definitely a direction worth paying attention to right now.

This is a very exciting day. We’re so excited to welcome June Erica Vess into the Wild Apple community.

Inside her Richmond studio, nothing is overly planned or forced. June starts with curiosity and lets the artwork lead. Sometimes it’s a whisper of an idea, sometimes just a shape or color that wants to exist. From there, she builds layer by layer until something completely unexpected starts to emerge.

Her style lives in that beautiful in-between space. Classic illustration meets mid-century influence meets modern abstraction. Soft watercolor moments, bold acrylic energy, and those thoughtful layers of pencil and collage that make you want to lean in a little closer.

We’re thrilled to share her work with our community and cannot wait for you to discover it too.
