Everyone wants to know if AI changed how I design.

It changed how fast I research, how I complete and automate administrative tasks. It is a wonderful tool for efficiency. It has not changed how I judge, how I design a space, how I consider the unique lives and tastes of the humans who live there. AI can do a decent job at generic design - but it doesn’t have the ability to make deep connections with humans and their spaces. To integrate thoughtful, functional details and elevated design choices that are deeply personal. It is not able to achieve the intricate details of luxury interior design.

It can’t forge the relationships with builders and tradespeople that get built over years of working through real problems on site. It can assist in troubleshooting. It cannot be in the room.

Good taste is not a dataset. It is accumulated judgment, years of experience, and the ability to be human and connect with humans and to provide the highest level of service to my clients.

Herringbone white oak, with a natural finish. The Romans built it into their roads two thousand years ago because the interlocking angle distributes force without shifting. We specified it here for the same reason - a pattern that holds under real use, and a classic look that the eye never tires of.

It is the kind of detail that connects a new build in Delaware, Ohio to a longer design tradition. That connection is something we look for in every project.

The beverage center in red-stained oak. Custom paneled appliances that disappear into the cabinetry line. A fluted hood, a dark walnut pantry tower, a natural wood arch alcove - each piece drawn by hand before it was built, each element considered against everything else in the room.

Leather that will only get better with age. A desk angled to catch the morning light without ever facing it directly.

This room holds the quiet beginning or end of the work day - the calls that need real focus, the invoices, the moment you finally sit down with no one else in the house awake yet, and just as often, the moment a good idea finally has room to move. It deserved a chair worth sitting in.

The walls are Moore Midnight. The custom built-ins at the far end were painted to match exactly, framing a pair of double doors so seamlessly that most people never register they're there at all. What you don't see is everything that made this possible — the selections, the specifications, the documentation, the trades and the relationships with them that were built long before anyone picked up a brush.

That is what hiring an interior designer actually means. Every detail resolved, every decision made with intention, so the homeowner never has to carry the weight of it.

This wet bar sits outside the kitchen, but its job is connecting the dining and the living room. Not a destination. A hinge.

Pour a drink on the way from dinner to the sofa. Restock glassware without cutting back through the kitchen mid-conversation. A beverage refrigerator, an ice maker, a sparkling water tap - the entire point is that nobody making a second round has to step foot in the kitchen at all. A house with good flow is not an accident. It is a hundred decisions about where a wall stops and a doorway starts, made long before anyone ever pours a glass of wine here.

100% custom cabinetry in a beautiful quarter sawn white oak, not a stock box with custom trim. Nothing here is a compromise dressed up to look bespoke.

This entire space was thoughtfully designed and built around how this family actually lives.

The Midnight walls are a cocoon, and the custom built-ins at the other end of the room were painted to match exactly - framing a pair of double doors so seamlessly that most people never register they’re there at all.

Dark walnut on the left. Natural wood above. A red stain on the base of the beverage center.

This three-tone cabinet palette caused more deliberation than almost any other decision in this kitchen. It started with hand sketches. We custom-built all of it - the profiles, the finish, the functionality.

The uppers run along the curve of the arched windows. The herringbone floor ties it all together.
