Home Theater Direct Manufacturing and selling high-quality audio equipment at impossible to beat low prices direct to consumers. Our brief, but ground breaking history . . .

HTD spun out of a company that began designing and manufacturing high quality audio equipment for many of the biggest brands in home audio in the early 1970's. We leveraged our expertise in designing and producing quality audio gear for others into the creation of our own HTD brand in 1998. The first HTD speakers were sold direct to consumers in January 1999 and Home Theater Direct, Inc. became its own company in early 2001. With the advent of the internet, our decision to sell only direct to consumers was easy. Selling direct saves our customers money by eliminating the price increases tacked on by distributors and retailers, as well as by cataloguers and other internet stores. And the close interaction we get with our customers gives us a level of insight for improvements and future products never before imagined. At the same time, this close interaction allows us to provide unbeatable personalized service.

Where premium design meets uncompromising performance.

The HTD Cinema LCR2 was engineered to look as impressive as it sounds. With a sleek, shallow-profile cabinet, refined cinema styling, and tower-like performance, it brings serious home theater sound to spaces where aesthetics matter just as much as audio.

Dual 6.5" Kevlar cone woofers, a 1" silk-dome tweeter, and a solid internally braced MDF cabinet deliver powerful, natural soundโ€”while the clean, modern design keeps the focus exactly where it belongs.

Beautifully designed. Built to perform. Made for cinema.

Thatโ€™s the Cinema LCR2.

Do you know what 5.1.2 or 7.2.4 actually means? ๐ŸŽฌ๐Ÿ”Š

Surround sound speaker layouts are typically represented using the X.Y.Z format:

๐Ÿ”น X = Number of speakers โ€” front, center, and surround channels
๐Ÿ”น Y = Number of subwoofers โ€” connected to the Low Frequency Effects (LFE) channel
๐Ÿ”น Z = Number of Atmos speakers โ€” height channels that bring sound above and around you

Getting the speaker layout right is a critical part of creating an immersive home theater experience. Rather than guessing, use established placement guidelines to help determine where your speakers should go and how they should be positioned.

With the right layout, your HTD speakers can deliver a more convincing, enveloping listening experience from every seat in the room.

Plan the room. Place the speakers correctly. Then turn it up.

Why leave your Echo Dot sitting on the counter?

The HTD In-Ceiling Dot Kit gives your Echo Dot a cleaner, more integrated way to deliver audio throughout your home.

Instead of having the Echo Dot taking up valuable counter space, the Dot Kit places it discreetly behind an in-ceiling speaker grilleโ€”keeping the technology out of sight while putting the sound where you want it.

Clean. Discreet. Built into the room.

Turn your Echo Dot into a seamless whole-house audio experience with HTD.
