Found a vintage Pentax ME Super for $20 at an estate sale, and shot a roll of b&w film at the house 📸
There’s something SO special about film! (Big thanks to for answering my questions!)

On an exciting note, the company we are using to fix the foundation issues is coming back this week to assess and schedule the first major hydraulic lift! And we have an entirely new water line/meter ready for hookup!

Unfortunately there’s not much more to report on the house. It’s been a very hard few weeks personally, including losing my job. I start my new position on Monday, and I’m excited for a change! However, this means our plans for buckling down and moving into Thornhill are being pushed back until next year. I need stability, and we will take the winter to tackle some cozy projects in our current home before listing next spring.

TODAY IS THE DAY WE FIX THE WALL!!
In the broad overlook of this restoration, THIS is the big thing… this is the thing we were definitely not qualified to tackle diy-style.

And today is the day we start a new chapter!

While I am terrified of many things, we feel confident in the team coming today. I’m confident that this house found us for a reason, and that everything will end up okay.

By this weekend, we should have a semi-level house 🤞🏻

She’s looking less like a haunted mansion, and more like a real construction site 🧱🔨🚜 (still a little haunted mansion-y, but we’ll forgive her!)
Started steaming off the wallpaper this weekend, which means I can get the walls prepped for skim coating! I’ve been not-so-patiently waiting for this part, since it’s hard to see the positive while the walls are in such a desperate state. A lot of gross behind the scenes work needed to happen, and we’re get close to getting that completed!

Tomorrow, we plan to watch the eclipse at the house, and we’re hoping the clouds are clear. I saw the 2017 eclipse in Tennessee, and I’ve been patiently waiting for this one! If I’m brave enough, I might even make it to the roof lol.
