Happy 78th birthday in heaven, Daddy.

Eight years ago today, we celebrated your 70th birthday together, never knowing it would be our last with you. As I watch this video, my heart aches for just one more hug, one more conversation, and one more chance to tell you how much you mean to me.

You were my world, my lifeline, my safe place, and my biggest supporter. You loved me, my children, and our family with everything you had, and we feel your absence every single day. The kids still talk about you and miss the love, laughter, and strength that you brought into all of our lives.

There isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t wish I could pick up the phone and hear your voice. I hope you know how deeply loved you still are and how grateful I am to have had you as my dad.

To the fun, most loving, sassiest, and absolutely gorgeous young woman I know—you make life brighter just by being in it. Watching you grow into the incredible woman you are today has been one of the greatest blessings of my life.

Happy Father’s Day in Heaven, Pop

Not a day goes by that I don’t miss you. You left us far too soon, but the love, strength, and guidance you gave us remain with me every day.

You were the rock of our family—the steady presence we could always count on. You loved us unconditionally, protected us fiercely, and showed us what true strength and kindness looked like. To my children, you weren’t just their grandfather; you were the only father figure they truly knew. The bond you shared with them was something incredibly special, and they carry your love with them still.

There are so many moments I wish I could share with you, so many times I wish I could pick up the phone and hear your voice. But I find comfort knowing that your legacy lives on through all of us. The values you taught, the memories you created, and the love you gave continue to shape our lives every day.

Thank you for being my dad, my protector, my biggest supporter, and one of the greatest blessings of my life.

Today my heart is overflowing with pride.

Watching my daughter graduate with Honors from UNC Charlotte while also competing as a Division 1 lacrosse player feels like one of those moments you dream about as a parent. The early mornings, late nights, practices, games, pressure, sacrifices, injuries, studying, traveling, and pushing through when things got hard — YOU did it all with strength, determination, and grace.

Being a D1 athlete is already a full-time commitment, but to balance that while achieving academic honors speaks volumes about the kind of young woman YOU are. Strong. Disciplined. Resilient. Driven.

I have always said my greatest blessing in life is my children, and today shines especially bright. Watching you grow into the woman YOU are becoming has been one of the greatest honors of my life.

You didn’t just earn a degree. You proved to yourself — and everyone around you — that hard work, heart, and perseverance matter.
