Life/Order Update:
Hi everyone, I know I have been a bit distant over the past couple weeks and orders fell a bit behind. I am incredibly sorry for that, as my life has been in fight or flight mode since before Thanksgiving.
As many of you know, I work a full-time job as a special education teacher in a cyber setting. Unfortunately, lawmakers have not been nice to cybers. When the PA budget was passed back at the end of November, there was also a bill signed for cyber school reform. A part of this bill capped our funding to only 8k per student, previously we received 70% of the per student funds that each school district has set (this amount varies depending on the district) and the district was still keeping 30% of that funding while not educating that student. This cut in funding was retroactive to July 2025. It came through the grapevine that many cybers were starting to look at massive cuts to staff during our Thanksgiving break.
Since then, I have been sitting around, waiting to hear what the outcome would be. In the beginning of December, we found out that our school would be one of those schools and the worry of what will happen set in. Over the last 2 weeks, I have had no idea if I would still be employed and if not, what would I do? My husband and I currently working with a fertility clinic and the fear of losing my insurance would cause us to stop trying to conceive. Along with all of this happening, I went into a bit of a deep depression and trying to cut on the laser was an internal fight. Many times, I didn't win that fight.
If you have read this far, I was thankfully retained in my teaching position, but 170 of my colleagues were not as lucky. I am devastated that so many teachers had to find out they were unemployed just a week before Christmas. Please pray for each of those educators and their families and all of the students who lost staff members they bonded with in such an abrupt manner.
Due to this, I will not be taking on any last-minute Christmas orders as I don't know what extra duties, I may need to take on at school during this transition period. If we have discussed your order, you are still on my list and don't need to worry.
Outstanding Orders:
If you have an outstanding order, it will be available by this Saturday, and everyone will receive a special gift with their order as an apology for the late order.
