We don’t usually share many non-business posts, but this is a special case.
Hannah had her babies in the garage of our business this summer and we trapped her and her kittens and were lucky enough to find an amazing foster! Please share her story, and if you need a new friend, Hannah is an amazing kitty. Here’s her letter 🐱
Dear Internet: I am Hannah and I am putting myself up for adoption effective immediately. I am in what the humans are calling a deep depression. I was rescued from the streets of Yellow Springs after an unplanned pregnancy in which Mr. "Oh I love you so much Hannah" disappeared as soon as he realized I would have kittens. He has contributed absolutely nothing to the care or support of our babies. Then I was whisk away to my "foster home" with my kittens where they kept me in a cage and then took me and my kittens in for some sort of surgery they called "fixing" us. Now, the humans have taken my kittens away from me, saying that "it will help us get tame more quickly." Unfortunately, this means I am currently living alone in a bathroom, and I would like to formally register my very serious displeasure with this arrangement. It is lonely and I am very sad. My human captor/foster parent is helping me put this on the internets because she says sometimes people will adopts cats this way. I would like to request a quiet home, ideally with one or two people who like to give pets and chicken flavored treats. I am fixed, microchipped, vaccinated, litter trained, and very sweet when I am not being held hostage alone in a cage or bathroom. I am shy at first, but once things settle down, I love being rubbed and loved on. I think I would make an excellent companion for a single person or a couple who wants a quiet, sweet cat around the house. I also love chicken treats and scratch boards. I am FIV positive which sounds scarier than it is. I will very likely live a long and healthy life, but I should not live in a situation where I might get into serious fights with other cats or be exposed to lots of unfamiliar cats. That means I need to be an indoor-only kitty, preferably the one and only feline ruler of my household, although I do love my children and if you want two cats, one of my babies can come with us. If you are looking for a sweet companion who has survived single motherhood, life on the streets, an irresponsible partner, some abandonment trauma and now involuntary imprisonment, I am your girl.
Sincerely, Hannah
