Wreath designer • dog lover • live music fan I'm Kristin Russell, and my journey into the world of wreath-making began with a move from the sunny shores of California to the charming landscapes of North Carolina in 2023. As the holiday season approached, I found myself yearning for a beautiful Christmas wreath to adorn my new front door. However, I didn't want just any wreath—I wanted something unique, something that reflected my style and the spirit of my new home. There's just something about a traditional Christmas that feels like home. 🎄❤️

Maybe it's the familiar red and green.

Maybe it's the cozy plaid patterns, the holly berries, or the little snowflakes that remind us of Christmases gone by.

Or maybe it's simply the feeling of walking up to a beautifully decorated front door and knowing that something wonderful is waiting inside. 🏡

That's the feeling I wanted to capture with this wreath.

I combined classic Christmas plaids, festive holly patterns, bright red ribbons, rich greenery, and natural burlap accents to create a design that's full of warmth, texture, and holiday cheer.

And right in the center?

A rustic Merry Christmas sign that says exactly what this wreath is all about.

A warm welcome. A little tradition. And a whole lot of Christmas spirit. ❤️

Because decorating for Christmas isn't just about making our homes look beautiful.

Have you ever spotted a cardinal and immediately thought of someone special? ❤️🐦

There's something about these beautiful red birds that makes people stop and smile.

For some, they're simply a favorite part of nature.

For others, they carry memories of someone they love.

And that's one of the reasons I think cardinal decorations are so meaningful during the holidays.

When I created this wreath, I wanted it to feel like a traditional Christmas welcome, with a little extra heart.

I brought together beautiful cardinal and holly ribbons, cozy red plaids, rich green accents, natural burlap, and a few unexpected patterns to give everything that distinctive MelodyMesh personality.
And, of course, there's a big, beautiful bow. 🎀

Because apparently I have a reputation to maintain. 🤣

At the center is a sweet red cardinal surrounded by holly, along with a simple message:

Season's Greetings.

It's festive without being overly formal, traditional without feeling ordinary, and full of those little details that make handmade décor so special.

And best of all?

It's already finished and ready to hang.

No searching for coordinating ribbons. No afternoon spent assembling decorations.

Sometimes your Christmas tree doesn't need another ornament.

It needs a finishing touch. 🎀🎄

And apparently my idea of a “finishing touch” is 24 inches tall. 🤣

I've been wanting to branch out beyond wreaths, and this is officially my first Big-Bow Troublemaker—a handmade statement tree topper designed to become the finishing focal point of the entire tree.

I combined luxurious burgundy velvet with classic tartan plaid, emerald green, deep navy and metallic gold ribbon for a look that feels traditional, rich and just a little dramatic.

Okay…

Maybe more than *a little.* 😂

The wired ribbons can be shaped and fluffed, while the long tails can cascade naturally down into the branches so the topper feels like part of the tree rather than something simply sitting on top of it.

And here's what I love most:

You don't have to figure out how to layer five different ribbons, build loops, coordinate colors or wrestle with a bow maker.

I've already done that part for you.

You get to put it on the tree, fluff it and enjoy the finished look. ❤️

Some Christmas wreaths quietly welcome your guests.

This one practically opens the door and yells, “SANTA'S COMING!” 🤣🎅🎄

And I wouldn't have it any other way.

I wanted this design to feel like the Christmas excitement we remember as kids—bright colors, candy-cane stripes, Santa, his adorable reindeer sidekick and that feeling that something FUN is about to happen.

So naturally, I added ribbon.

Then more ribbon.

Then I made *that bow.* 🎀👀

And somewhere along the way, another Front-Door Troublemaker was born. 😂

But underneath all the fun is something I think really matters:

Your home should feel like you.

If your Christmas style is cheerful, colorful, playful and maybe just a *tiny bit* over the top, why should your front door be any different?

At 25" H × 25" W × 8" D, this handmade, one-of-a-kind wreath is big enough to make a statement—and ready to do the Christmas decorating for you.

Hang it. Step back. Smile.

I love Christmas décor…but taking it all down on December 26th? Not so much. 😂

So this Front-Door Troublemaker has a little secret:

She doesn't have to leave when Christmas does. ❄️💙

I designed this one around a sweet snowman family surrounded by icy blues, navy, snowy white and warm natural tones.

You'll find snowflakes, pinecones, birch-inspired ribbon, beautiful blue-and-white patterns, burlap textures and one gloriously oversized bow—because apparently we've given up pretending I know how to make small bows. 🤣🎀

But what I really love is what you *won't* find:

No Santa.
No ornaments.
No “Merry Christmas.”

So while she'll look beautiful welcoming everyone home during the holidays, she can stay right there through January and beyond.

One wreath. An entire winter of welcoming. 💙❄️

Because once the Christmas decorations come down, your front door doesn't suddenly have to become boring.
