Dang it. We’ve lost a real treasure. Rest easy, Dolly. I was in the crowd at this performance at Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival, in Golden Gate Park, in 2005. We loved her set! Wouldn’t have missed it, even though so many great bands were playing that slot on other stages. Funny story about her set, my friends and I were standing there watching, and I get a nudge from , and he motions down the row of people, and a from Phish was standing there watching too! As far as I know, he didn’t have any shows in the Bay Area that weekend, and didn’t play with anybody that day at HSBF, so it was good to see Mike in the crowd just being a fan. Dolly will be so missed. What an amazing musician/performer, but also just one of best souls this planet has ever known. Thank you, Dolly!
