The power of perennials! Just a few weeks ago this space looked mostly barren. But now it has burst forth with life that was just below the surface through the long winter months. And more color is appearing every day as buds open to blooms and slower to emerge plants make their appearance known. Evergreens have their place but the excitement spring brings when the ground bursts forth with such color is hard to beat in my book!

Ground cover plants can do more than just cover the ground. This chocolate chip ajuga puts on quite a spring show. These blue flowers last for several weeks then the bronze foliage reveals it’s beauty as a low growing ground cover with the added benefit of preventing weeds and less mulch is required. Chocolate chip ajuga will grow in sun or shade but it seems to prefer the sun as that’s where it blooms best. Maybe your garden could use some blue flowers in the springtime too.

White spring blooms bring such beauty to the garden. I absolutely love redbuds! And you say… “but you just said white blooms”. That is correct. There is also a whitebud that blooms with this profusion of white dainty flowers which are followed by heart shaped leaves just like redbuds. This whitebud has just found a home in my garden. It’s like it was just meant to be tucked in to join the three redbuds in bloom. Glorious!

Do you ever wish you had more cabinetry in your bathroom? This homeowner did and her bathroom grew from the before picture you can see here to this double vanity with a center tower. Add in wallpaper, soft green color on the cabinetry, and leathered granite to name just a few design details and this homeowner says she can’t believe she lives here. Where are the mirrors you may ask. A common term these days, back ordered.
