Last Friday, KAZE welcomed the fourth group of Hoa Mai Award young candidates to our mentorship program, hosted by our Founder and Chairwoman, Fong Chan Paw Zeuthen.

During the session, the participants had the opportunity to engage with real-scale sketches, material samples, and model-making exercises, gaining hands-on insights into the design process.

A big thank you to all four candidates for your enthusiasm and collaboration. We wish you the very best of luck as you prepare for the final round of the Hoa Mai Awards.

Patterns are not merely created, they are found. They exist all around us, embedded in the details of daily life. In the repetition of objects, routines, sounds, scents, and movements, patterns quietly shape our experience of a place. To observe a city is to observe the unique constellation of patterns that defines it.
During our recent study trip to Da Lat, we challenged ourselves to see the city differently. By slowing down and paying attention to the often-overlooked details, we discovered a richer layer of the city - one built from small moments, recurring forms, and subtle rhythms.
The closer we look, the more meaningful things become. What once seemed ordinary begins to reveal its character, and the city unfolds as a tapestry of patterns waiting to be noticed.

Last week, KAZE’s Managing Director, Đặng Việt Khoa, joined the Hoa Mai Design Award 2026 Design Talk & Networking session, “Who Are You When AI Can Do the Work?”.
The discussion brought together professionals and emerging creatives to explore the evolving role of designers in an AI-driven landscape. Sharing KAZE’s perspective, Khoa reflected on the importance of human insight, creativity, and critical thinking in shaping meaningful design beyond what technology alone can achieve.
