Braised pork belly (紅燒肉）

There is a reason why this is the first time I cook this dish properly...because the whole the process involves many steps - searing the skin, blanching, cleaning again, pan frying to degreasing, caramelizing, ... before braising!

This nice looking dish is surely the result of time and effort. Fortunately my effort was paid back with the dish and the rice cooker got nicely cleaned up 😆

安格斯免治牛肉含20%油脂 牛味濃鬱又不乾柴

"What is for lunch?"
I said, "How about curry beef cheese burger?"
"Yippee! Hooray!!!

The burger is made with Angus beef ground chuck with 20% fat...on a bed of Japanese rice and topped with cheese , silky scrambled egg and Japanese vegetable curry sauce.

Made some homemade sourdough bagels for the week ahead. Good bagels are hard to find in Hong Kong let alone the sourdough ones. These are same day bake - plain and whole grain with 20% Kamut and Farro. Don't they look great.

Roasted whole chicken in just 30 minutes. Cut open the chicken on the back removing the whole section along the spine. This will speed up the cooking and keep the breast meat moist. Try it. You will like it 😊

How do these croissants look to you? After failing so many times, I am able to meet my own standard. These croissants have butter equivalent to 50% of total flour by weight. Not good for those who follow a health diet regime but definitely great for occasional indulgence when one wants a special treat 😊
