The most joy I’ve been having recently in pottery has been making these delightful two-handled mugs for littles!! They’re so fun — and hats off to a friend of mine who, years ago, planted the idea in my mind about little surprises to be found at the bottom.
The mugs you see here have: cherries for a sweet little girl who used to inhale halved cherries (part of a family berries-inspired set), an octopus for my little one, because why not? And two Hot Wheels-inspired mugs for two fiery little boys.
I hope you enjoy this sweet montage of tiny hands modelling how to use and play with the cups. Some may ask, “How could we possibly give handmade pottery to children???” To that I say — pottery might surprise you in its durability. And if it breaks, so what? It’s worth it to see the joy and surprise when it’s being used, and it can always be remade. Life is for enjoying. 🙂
I hope you also enjoy the cameo by my favourite chicken, Olive, who brings me immense wonderment and sparkling delight.
