Rigid Heddle Weaving Workshop – Burra

New workshop date is here!

Fancy learning the wonderful world of rigid heddle weaving? I’ve added a new date for my full-day Rigid Heddle Workshop.

Whether you’re a complete beginner or looking to build your confidence, we’ll spend the day getting to grips with the loom, learning the basics and, most importantly, having a good time making something of your own.

Spaces are limited, so if you’ve been thinking about giving weaving a go, this is your sign.

Last day of Wool Week 2026.

The studio is emptied, the car is packed and we’re off to the Makers Market. Serenaded by William on the way, then dropped off with Papa before the madness begins.

Stall set up and then… crazy begins.

I’m always completely blown away by the amount of custom we get at this show. You lot are honestly incredible. I love you all.

Packed up, headed home, then unpacked the car the next day.

Now it’s time to relax with homemade wheaten bread, a cuppa and about six weeks’ worth of MasterChef.

See you all in 359 days.

The last day of workshops.

A lovely final day of making, chatting and sharing ideas. It’s been such a joy to see everyone getting stuck in and creating their own pieces over the past few days.

A special thank you to Tabby and Tweed Looms for the beautiful looms and equipment that made the workshops possible, and to everyone who came along, had a go and made the sessions so enjoyable.

It’s been a brilliant week, and I’m so grateful to everyone who took the time to join me.

Day 6

Harder to get up today. I slept through TWO alarms!

Once I was up, it was straight into setting up the shed, then teaching my last workshop. After that, back to the shed for a final few hours of open studio before packing up the car ready for tomorrow’s Makers Market.

Also managed to sneak in a little look at the brilliant selection of home bakes and the textile exhibition at the Kirk. So much talent and lovely things to see.

It’s been a busy one, but I’m so excited to meet everyone tomorrow. Come say hi if you’re there!

Day 4 of Wool Week

A blustery day, but that didn’t stop people venturing out! I started the day with a workout with Rhanell, then kids to school before heading into the shed to get everything set up. I managed to squeeze in a little weaving before heading to the kirk for the workshops.

Another lovely bunch of people joined me and created some beautiful cloth. Then it was back to the shed, where a delivery of boxes arrived just in time for the Makers Market.

A little more weaving to finish the day and then back in to warm up!

Just a little reminder, there will be no open studio tomorrow as I’m back at my day job.

A huge thank you to everyone who braved the weather to come and see me today. I really appreciate you making the effort.

The studio will be open again Friday.
