There’s no place like home 🤍

Not me living my retired gardener era in my 30s… Honestly, I’ve never been happier ☀️

Friday nights used to look very different, now I’m up early, walking the garden with a tea, checking what’s grown overnight, moving pots around for no reason and getting far too excited over new flowers.

How about you?

There are moments here that feel a little bit magic.

The other evening a quiet visitor in the paddock… If you listen you can hear the sniffs of the deer inspecting the camera, we were expecting to see a badger!

A morning of sorting in the sun ☀️

Such a lovely Sunday morning pottering outside with the children soaking up a bit of sunshine. The ducks, chickens, dog, cat and rabbit all keeping me company while the hubby was out on his morning run.

With the greenhouse going up soon I wanted the back of it to feel a bit more put together. I added a little gravel and used the old table that was already here. Topped it with some spare tiles and gathered all my pots and watering cans in one place. It feels so much better already and ready for what’s coming next.

1. My first camellia plant flowering, was our house warming gift that I just love, such a thoughtful gift.
2. Was the start of our annexe roof being worked on!
3. Living-room sunshine was just the best.
4. My first double yolker!
5. These girls keeping me on my toes and being the talk of our village… especially Edith the escapee.
6. Sometimes you just need to watch the cat play with a piece of twine. 🤣
7. We took a huge bay leave tree down from our garden as it was blocking so much light, keeping it contained a little better now, this was the aftermath of all the logs. Now drying out for the fire.
8. My first dip of the year, in such a beautiful setting. This year I signed up to The Swim Serpentine in Hyde Park this year, pushing myself out of my comfort zone.
9. The start of our new flower bed, hopefully the chickens won’t ruin it…
10. The fire came back on as our heating has packed in and I hate feeling cold! 🤣
11. Little man helping me out and giving the girls some treats.
12. The roof is complete and we are now water tight, no more puddles on the floor, time to start inside the house.
13. Spring arrived and it’s definitely helped me, I love being able to potter about in the garden, especially as the nights are getting lighter.
14. Our newest arrival, joining the crazy family in a few weeks. 🐰

🌿 The flowers are finally starting to wake up.

Two whole days without rain and I am absolutely here for it. Being able to walk around the garden without waterproofs feels like a small miracle 🤣

Now the real problem… finding time for a garden centre trip because clearly I need more plants.

This mornings sunrise, with no filter or music.

Collecting the duck and chicken eggs this morning and being greeted with no rain was something that I didn’t think I needed, definitely put a smile on my face.
So just took it in with no distractions and then turned off my phone to really listen.
