From this... to this.
1. During the first meeting with my clients, I take measurements of the space and learn about their needs and dreams. I need to know if they want two sinks or just oneâor maybe one sink with two faucets? Do they prefer a bathtub, a shower, or both? Itâs all about balancing the technical possibilities of the space with the clientâs expectations.
In this particular bathroom, for example, I suggested adding an extra toilet. The clients had never thought of that, since they already had one in a separate room.
2. At the second meeting, I present the interior concept in one or two versions. Itâs a 3D scale model, which really helps with communication between the client and the designer. I can provide precise dimensionsâlike for the designed showerâand clearly convey my vision.
This is the moment when we discuss which of the proposed solutions best suits the homeowners. Clients can also give more input on their style preferences, ask any questionsâwhether design-related or technical.
3. The third meeting is more technical. We go over the layout with lighting and electrical plans. I present finishing materials and we choose the best options together. We also review a preliminary cost estimate.
For every interior design project, I prepare a budget list with all necessary items to be purchased and the scope of work to be done. This gives clients a full picture of what to expect.
After these three meetings, clients have a complete vision of what their bathroom will look like. They feel confident about the design, theyâve had all their questions answered, and they understand the total cost.
With this full set of information, some clients prefer to handle the shopping and renovation team themselves. However, about 90% of my clients choose to delegate the full renovation process to me. After these few meetings, they recognize how much technical knowledge and experience I bring to the table. They trust that I understand their needs and know exactly how they want their bathroom to look.
They feel safe leaving their home in my careâand go off on vacation while I handle everything.
