My name is Emily, I'm the creator of Foxgloves and the products I sell. I'd been making things and messing about with crafts for a while, mainly making a few gift cards and starting projects but never actually seeing them through to the end, when we moved home, and I started to think about trying to sell my crafts. I made a few items and actually managed to finish them, but was only making halfhearted movements towards setting up a shop, when my partner unexpectedly lost his job. All of a sudden we found ourselves without a second income, desperately seeking a way to make ends meet, and selling my crafts took on a new importance. I realised that I love the products I make, maybe other people would like them too, and I wanted to share them! From this, Foxgloves was born. I struggled for a while to come up with a name, starting off as Hummingbird Home Decor before realising that I just didn't like the name at all - it didn't mean anything to me or my business. Foxgloves was the name of my grandparent's house. I remember my grandparents moving into their new home and my nana being disgusted that it just had a number, no name. For her it was far too anonymous and impersonal. So she decided it was called Foxgloves, and that was that. Foxgloves, to me, suits me and my creations, because like my nana, I don't want my business to be impersonal or anonymous. The photo in my banner is of a sign that my nana made herself from a piece of driftwood and her own artistic talents for the front of her house, and my logo is directly taken from that sign too. Foxgloves was born out of love for my crafts (and a small push from my partner's job loss to push me in the right direction!). Everything I sell in my shop is hand made or hand decorated by me, with care and love, sent out as well packaged as I possibly can make it so it reaches you in the condition it was intended and hopefully you can love it as much as I do!
