There’s a great project I worked on this year that I haven’t gotten to show you yet! My colleague Ingrid from had designed a built-in wall unit and she reached out to have me lime wash the backs of the unit and front center panel. She also asked me to design and paint a custom piece of artwork to hang in the center of these units.

For remembrance day, I wanted to share a special piece of decor in my home. It's a plaque that the Netherlands had made to commemorates the volunteer work that my family and many others were a part of in military clubs in Glasgow Scotland. The city of Glasgow was heavily targeted and hit because of their shipbuilding yards along the river Clyde that my grandfather worked at as a submarine designer. I heard many stories over the years of what life was like during that time, from how they had to blackout their windows at night so as to not be seen from the air, to daily air raid sirens for them to hide in their backyard bomb shelters. I can't imagine having lived through a time like that and it makes the uncertain times we're living in pale in comparison.

I’ve been on instagram for 12 years now. So much has changed since then, in the online world, in the “real world”, in my own personal world, and in my business world. One thing remains the same for me, I’ve always seen this space as somewhere I can share my creativity. Share a glimpse of the world through my eyes which takes slowing down and being vulnerable, not being concerned with where things fit or don’t, or making sure I have a clear “niche”. I’ve always been an artist and this has taken many forms throughout my life. Whether it’s drawing, painting, photography, crafting, decorating spaces, homemaking, wallpapering etc., it’s always me…I’m drawing from the same well.
