A Shigaraki sake bottle with a reddish-brown clay surface marked by variations in tone and texture created during firing.
The rough, earthy surface reveals small stones and particles of clay, while the changes in color created through firing give the vessel a richly varied expression. When filled with sake, the color and texture of the clay become even more pronounced, making the character of the material enjoyable as you use it.

A simple Gorinto pagoda composed of distinct earthen forms stacked one upon another. Small particles of clay and stones appear across the surface, while variations in tone created during firing give each form its own character.
Though small in scale, its tall, slender form makes a striking impression. Its appearance changes depending on where it is placed, making it an engaging piece to enjoy in different settings.

A tea cup with a powder-white surface that reveals the character of the clay beneath. Small stones and particles in the clay emerge through the white surface, creating subtle variations in tone and texture. Slight irregularities along the rim and body reveal the hand of the maker, giving the cup a simple yet distinctive character.
Its clean cylindrical form fits comfortably in the hand, with a size well suited to everyday use. A tea cup to enjoy as part of the daily ritual of tea.

北九州で育った堤康博さんは、幼い頃から目にしてきた街や自然、移り変わる風景の記憶を制作の根底に据えながら、油彩による抽象表現に取り組んでいます。目に映る景色を描き写すのではなく、心に残る風景や、その記憶に宿る感覚をたどりながら制作を続けています。描いては削り、削ってはまた描く。その行為を繰り返すなかで、重ねられた絵の具と、削ることで現れる痕跡が交わり、思いがけない景色がふと姿を現します。そこには、重ねることで生まれる現在と、削ることで姿を現す過去が混在し、一つひとつの作品に異なる時間が刻まれています。目の前にあるのは、何かを写した風景ではなく、描くことと削ることを重ねた先に見出された景色です。作品と向き合うことで、それぞれの記憶や感覚と響き合い、新たな景色が立ち上がってくることでしょう。本展では新作を中心に約60点の作品をご紹介いたします。ぜひこの機会にご高覧くださいませ。
Raised in Kitakyushu, Yasuhiro Tsutsumi creates abstract oil paintings inspired by memories of the city, nature, and changing landscapes. Rather than depicting what he sees, he explores landscapes shaped by memory and sensation. Through the repeated act of painting, scraping away, and painting again, unexpected landscapes gradually emerge. Layers of paint and traces of what lies beneath allow past and present to coexist within each work. This exhibition presents approximately 60 new paintings. We warmly invite you to experience Tsutsumi’s latest works.

Natural-Glazed Cylindrical Tea Bowl / Yui Tsujimura

A cylindrical tea bowl with a vivid green natural glaze.
The simple clay surface is covered in rich green glaze, with subtle variations in tone and touches of blue appearing across the surface. A deep blue pools inside the bowl, creating a striking contrast with the vivid green and giving the interior a distinct character. The shifting colors of the natural glaze create different expressions throughout the bowl.
Its clean cylindrical form is gently rounded through the body, with slight irregularities along the rim that reveal the hand of the maker. Comfortable to hold, it is a tea bowl to enjoy not only for its form, but also for the vivid colors of its glaze.

鮮やかな緑の自然釉が印象的な筒茶碗。
素朴な土肌の上に緑の釉が広がり、ところどころに濃淡や青みが現れています。内側には深い青色が溜まり、鮮やかな緑との対比が、この器ならではの表情をつくっています。自然釉によって生まれた色の変化が、器の内外で異なる景色を見せてくれます。
筒形のすっきりとした姿に、胴のゆるやかなふくらみとわずかな歪みが加わり、手に取ったときにもよく馴染む形。鮮やかな釉の色を眺めながら、茶を一服楽しみたい一碗です。

A simple Shigaraki tea cup that makes the most of the natural character of the clay.
The reddish-brown surface reveals subtle variations in tone and texture from the firing, with different areas taking on their own character. The rim retains a gentle irregularity, allowing the traces of the maker’s hand to become part of the vessel’s form.
Its clean cylindrical shape is softened by a gentle fullness through the body, making it comfortable to hold. A natural companion for everyday tea, with the warmth and character of the clay coming through in each use.

The dark, lustrous surface is scattered with irregular oil-drop markings that catch the light in shades of silver and soft peach. As the light shifts, the surface takes on a subtle, almost metallic glow, revealing a rich depth of color.
The gently rounded form opens out from the foot toward the rim, allowing the varied pattern of the glaze to unfold across the vessel. Its small scale sits comfortably in the hand, while sake brings out the warmth and changing sheen of the surface.

桃銀油滴天目盃 /古谷宣幸

黒褐色の器肌に、銀白色の油滴が細かな斑紋となって現れる桃銀油滴天目盃。光の当たり方によって、わずかに桃色を帯びた艶が浮かび、深みのある表情を見せます。
