I'm making a quilt for a friend from her mothers Saris. The fabrics are so beautiful. I came across some mending that was done. I incorporated it into the block. Rather than a blemish I see it as a connection to her mother/grandmother/relative who's hands touched and mended the garment.

I sent my friend in Australia a quilt for her bed and she is having a wonderful time seeing all the places it can be used. Not just for sleeping in bed. Love it.

Here are some detail areas of my Adobe needlepoint. This is really the first project that allows for some more decorative stitches. I love the fringe on the blanket and my rose bushes.

Need Advice. What type of stitch would you use for the chili peppers? It’s a small area. Also should I outline in black before I stitch the peppers? I’m thinking yes since I won’t be able to see the black outlines after I stitch the peppers

I’ve been recovering from ankle surgery this past month and can’t sit at my sewing machine. So I’ve dusted off the needlepoint box and I’m falling back in love with it. I have so many beautiful threads and canvases. I’ve finished one and started working on the next. Some of these I’ve had for over 15 years. Youtube has been great for learning new stitches.

Two years ago I bought two packs of genuine 100% wool tartan squares from on Cape Breton Island in Nova Scotia. I played around with what pattern to use but finally settled on this layout. I think it’s spectacular and the tartan blocks are large enough to appreciate the patterns. The background fabric is Essex Linen from fabrics
