Whether it’s a Mother’s Day gift or a “just because” treat, receiving flowers is the best—but the “some assembly required” part can feel a bit daunting.
My Golden Rules for Blooms:
• Pick the right vessel: If your vase is too wide, use a tape grid or chicken wire. Skip the floral foam—it’s full of toxins and bad for the Earth. 🌎🚫
• Clean your “straws”: Strip leaves from the midpoint down. Foliage in the water creates bacteria, and flowers don’t want to drink “leaf tea.” 🥤🍃
• Layer & Rotate: Work in circles at different heights for an airy look. Keep the vase spinning so there are no “bad sides.” 🔄
• Measure twice, cut once: Hold your stem against the glass to check the height before you snip. No more “accidentally too short” stems! ✂️
