June here already? At https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61584452353584 (clothing into art) it will be devoted to appliqué and fabric collage, totally influenced by our focus of turning clothing into art, exploring techniques, and finding new ways to integrate textiles into what you wear.
We'll be introducing you to skilled and innovative makers who cut, layer, stitch and combine textiles in unexpected ways. Some work on quilts, some on wall pieces, some on sculptural textiles—but the ideas don't stop there.
Many of these techniques translate beautifully to clothing. A sleeve, a coat back, a collar or pocket can become a place for storytelling, colour and personal expression. If adding your art, hobby or expert textile skills on to your clothing interests you, June should provide plenty of inspiration.
