๐๐๐ผ ๐พ๐ค๐ก๐ค๐ช๐ง ๐พ๐ง๐๐ฌ ๐๐๐ข๐๐๐ง ๐๐ ๐ค๐จ๐๐ฃ๐๐ฉ๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐ฃ๐๐ builds this splash from something you might not expect: curved lines, carefully placed shadows and tiny hits of bright colour.
1๏ธโฃ Start with yellow pastel in the background
2๏ธโฃ Build the water surface with curved horizontal lines
3๏ธโฃ Layer green, pink, yellow, orange
4๏ธโฃ Create the ripple rings with curved oval shapes
5๏ธโฃ Darken the centre where the drop hits the water
6๏ธโฃ Build the splash upwards and shape the main droplet
7๏ธโฃ Add darker shadows around the splash and droplet
8๏ธโฃ Bring in white and light blue highlights for that wet, reflective look
9๏ธโฃ Blend the ripples, keeping some curved highlights visible
๐ Add the smaller falling droplet and finish with your deepest shadows and brightest highlights
๐ก The interesting part? The water effect comes from contrast. Those really dark shadows sitting next to bright highlights are what makes a flat pastel drawing look glossy and dimensional.
Which part would you tackle first: the ripples or that suspended droplet? ๐
