The corner of the room you reach for every evening. 🌙

This is Lounge Lamp Base, a ceramic base with a woven shade that throws a warm, even glow. It sits here on a hand-carved teak side table, and both are available in the showroom or online.

Every teak root piece in our showroom is one of a kind.😍 The grain pattern, the shape of the roots and the colour of the wood are different on each one, so the piece you choose is the only one like it. It works as a side table, a stool or a plant stand. Visit us at Ballito Junction or enquire on WhatsApp for what we have in stock right now.

Thank you to everyone who came out and celebrated with us today.

A showroom full of people, cake, and a lot of familiar faces is the best way we could have marked it. We started this business because we believe a home should be filled with pieces that last, and the fact that so many of you have brought those pieces into your homes is not something we take lightly.

Here is a short recap of the morning.

The Orb Pendant, down from R5 990 to R4 792 until the end of this week ✨

An entrance is the hardest room to get right because there is nothing in it to work with. No sofa, no table, usually no natural light after four. One fitting with real presence solves it, and the open frame on this one means it reads as a sculpture during the day and throws light in every direction at night. It suits a double volume entrance or a passage with height, and it takes two bulbs.

Our spring lighting edit ends on Wednesday, so this is the last week at these prices.

This teak root piece found its new home this week.

Every root piece we bring in is cut from a single piece of natural teak, which means the grain, the shape and the character are never repeated. When one sells, the next one will look nothing like it. That is part of the appeal, and also the reason we always tell people not to wait too long on a piece they love.

A pair of woven pendants over a solid wood dining table, and the whole room changes character after dark.

A few things worth knowing if you are thinking about doing this at home.🏠 Two pendants suit a table longer than 1.6m, and hanging them at slightly different heights makes them read as one considered choice rather than two separate fittings. The bottom of the shade should sit 75 to 90cm above the table top, which is low enough to light the food and high enough to see the person across from you. The open weave matters too, because it throws pattern 😍 onto the ceiling instead of a flat pool of light.

These are part of our spring lighting edit, up to 30% off selected pendants and table lighting. Don't walk, RUN!

Or come and see them lit at our Ballito Junction showroom, open seven days.
