This Nissan Navara visited Acoustic Audio for an exciting HELIX sound system upgrade!

We installed the HELIX Compose Basic 6.5” split system in the front doors, together with HELIX Compose Basic 6.5” coaxial speakers in the rear.

Don’t let the name Basic fool you! These speakers deliver impressive sound quality, with beautifully detailed high frequencies, a rich, natural midrange and excellent midbass performance. Music sounds lively, dynamic and full of energy!

Powering the system is the HELIX AMPLIFY 204 X-OVER amplifier, driving the front split system, rear coaxial speakers and a previously installed subwoofer.

The result? A beautifully balanced sound system with excellent clarity, powerful bass and a wonderfully engaging musical presentation.

All in all, a fantastic music experience that makes every drive a pleasure!

To complete the upgrade, we also replaced the factory radio with a TT Audio ECO 9-inch Android multimedia system. Offering fantastic performance, wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, online navigation and a host of additional features, it’s the perfect finishing touch to this Nissan Navara!

Another GWM P-Series bakkie in at AcousticAudio for a BLAM sound system upgrade.

We installed BLAM Express Series speakers front and rear, delivering impressive mid-bass performance, warm and natural midrange, and beautifully detailed highs.

For the low frequencies, we installed the BLAM RS 10 slimline subwoofer in a custom-built ported enclosure. The result is impressive low-frequency extension, filling the cabin with deep, controlled bass and excellent output. Thanks to the superb transient response we’ve come to expect from BLAM subwoofers, it integrates beautifully with the front speakers.

Powering the system is the BLAM Express EX400 amplifier, delivering plenty of power on tap and performance well above its price point.

All in all, a fantastic sounding setup for the GWM P-Series bakkie!

The Icar is back at AcousticAudio for a front subwoofer add on!

We wanted to improve the bass/midbass response of the system especially in the 50-150 hz range. The Helix IKS8 subwoofer was exactly the right driver for the job.

The ported subwoofer enclosure design gives us the added efficiency and output needed to fill the cabin effortlessly from the front, with very little cone movement but still delivering excellent low-frequency extension and a proper kick in the chest.

The enclosure was finished with matt black vinyl details to complement the original interior, while keeping passenger foot space and everyday usability in mind.

Compact, integrated and incredibly effective — it is amazing what this little subwoofer can do up front.

Stay tuned for more!

This iCar in at AcousticAudio fir a sound system upgrade!

For this we focused on keeping everything clean, hidden and sounding natural.

In the front doors we fitted the BLAM TS 20MG35 Signature tweeters together with the BLAM S3N50 Signature midrange set. For the rear doors we used the BLAM LFR 52 Live midrange set. All the BLAM drivers are powered by the Helix 204XOVER amplifier.

We also reused a 10-inch subwoofer and an additional 4-channel amplifier from a previous installation. That amplifier now powers the OEM centre speaker in the dashboard as well as the 10-inch subwoofer.

For the subwoofer we built a false-floor enclosure in the boot, finished in carpet, so the installation is completely hidden and the boot still looks clean and factory.

The BLAM Signature and Live speakers give the system a very warm midrange sound, excellent detail from the tweeters and a very natural front stage, while the hidden 10-inch subwoofer fills in the low frequencies without overpowering the reat if the system.

All in all, a very clean installation and a fantastic sounding car.
Stay tuned for more.

This BMW E46 330i in at AcousticAudio for a complete audio upgrade, with the focus on clean sound, good balance and strong bass without taking away from the character of the car.

For the source unit, we fitted a TT Audio Class D Apple CarPlay and Android Auto radio. A good audio system can only perform as well as the signal it receives, so having a clean, strong signal from the radio is very important. The TT Audio unit gives us a solid foundation to work from, while also adding the convenience of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for everyday use.

Up front, we fitted a BLAM Relax 130 RFC split system into the front doors. These speakers give the system a very clean and detailed front sound stage, with clear vocals, crisp highs and good midrange response without sounding harsh.

At the rear, we fitted a set of BLAM SR 165C coaxial speakers on the rear parcel shelf. These add some extra fill to the system and work very well with the front speakers, giving the whole cabin a fuller and more balanced sound.

Both the front split system and the rear coaxial speakers are powered by a BLAM Power P704 four-channel amplifier. Giving the speakers proper clean power makes a big difference, allowing them to play with much better control, clarity and detail.

For the low end, we fitted a BLAM Live L25 DB 10-inch subwoofer into a sealed enclosure that we built specifically for the installation. A properly designed sealed enclosure gives the subwoofer excellent control, producing tight, accurate bass rather than just loud, boomy bass.

The subwoofer is powered by a BLAM Power P601 amplifier, giving it the power and control it needs to perform properly.

The end result is a system that sounds clean and balanced at normal listening levels, but still has plenty of output when you turn the volume up. The front stage is clear and detailed, the rear speakers add nicely to the overall sound, and the 10-inch BLAM subwoofer gives the system strong, controlled bass without overpowering the music.

Stay tuned for more!

This Jetour T1 (our first one) inat AcousticAudio for a sound system upgrade!

The system were removed from the customer’s Haval.
As per usual, we treated the doors with sound deadening and anti vibration materials to ensure that resonance is kept at a minimum while eliminating the flexing of all the door panels - we closed of any unnecessary holes at the same time. Solid midbass is what we expect from front and rear drivers and this is exactly the result we got.

Good bass and sub bass from performance from the 12 inch sub woofer, in sealed enclosure, adds the low notes with ease to the door speakers - al in all a huge upgrade over the OEM system.

The first one of just many more to come - stay tuned!

This BMW X3 in at AcousticAudio for a BLAM sound system upgrade!

At first we fitted the Relax 200 WN 8 inch woofer set together with the new P704 4 channel amplifier to power the OEM front and rear speakers.
A couple of days later our customer asked for more info on the direct fit Relax 100 FS splitsystem sets and he wanted to install them as well.
We added the Relax 1020D 2 channel amplifier just to power the underseat woofer set and used the P704 to power just the front and rear split system sets. Here you can see the diffrence between the OEM tweeter and the BM25T - they are a massive improvement over the OEM sets.

So what improvements did our customer get with the BLAM setup?
Firstly a huge improvement in all tonal areas plus a lot more kick and output from the underseat woofers.
And the system is a lot more enjoyable irrespective the type of music we listen to.

All in all a fantastic sounding system as can be expected from all BLAM car audio products.

A special thanks to Michael our customer for tweaking the first picture of he’s car - this looks real good indeed!

This KIA Tasman in at Acoustic Audio for a full Helix sound system upgrade!

The customer told me it is the first one sold in Boksburg and Helix car audio equipment is a must!

Known for their real good tonal quality and decent output, the Compose series 6.5 split system and coaxial set fitted in the front and rear doors did a superb job to reproduce from woofer frequencies all the way to tweeter detail. Together they are just fantastic sounding
producing a all around sound field.

The Helix IKS10 slimline filled the cabin with low frequincy detail with ease - deep full bass notes which is tight and controlled.

The Helix 204 x over amplifies all the drivers with ease - the sound signature can be described as detailed with a rich tone - with a subwoofer that adds to the soundstage brilliantly.

Stay tuned for more.
