There are kitchens with four walls, a gas stove, and overhead lighting. And then there are the ones that stretch as far as the fire does. Open air, cold sky, the smell of woodsmoke and something rich and slow cooking in a big pot.​

You know the one. Onions hitting the pan, the kitchen starting to fill with that smell that means dinner is on its way. ​

It doesn't matter what you're making, when that smell reaches the rest of the house, everyone starts moving toward the kitchen.​
​
Winter cooking doesn't need to be complicated. It just needs to be warm. And it always starts the same way, a little oil, the Hart M8 frypan on the heat, and something good on the way.​
