In this video, Konrad explains one of the clever features built into the MadKon Braai — the Grid Raiser.

With 3 different height levels, you can easily adjust your cooking grid depending on what you’re cooking and how much heat you want.

But there’s more to it…

The wind-deflecting back plate has two important jobs:

🔥 It helps protect your heat from the wind, keeping the heat where you need it — under your grid.

🔥 It also keeps the grid raisers upright and securely in position while you braai.

Simple. Practical. Purposeful.

GANNABOS — IT’S THE LITTLE THINGS

Our campsite at Gannabos was such a lovely surprise.

The two campsites are situated near the old Kareeboom Schoolhouse, and each has its own private ablution facility. And when I say private, I mean spacious! A huge shower, toilet, basin, separate washing-up and laundry sink, hot water from a gas geyser and a washing line.

No electricity. No cell phone reception. Just you and nature. There is free Wi-Fi if you really need to connect, and wood is available to buy. 🔥

But what really stood out to us was the care and attention to detail.

Thank you, Nakkie van Wyk, for looking after this place with so much pride.

The little things caught our attention — the stones carefully placed around the building so rainwater doesn't splash against the walls, the washing-line pegs all lined up neatly together, and every little detail around the facilities showing that someone actually cares.

It’s not just about having a toilet and shower when you camp. It’s about creating a place where people feel welcome and comfortable.

Gannabos is simple, peaceful and beautifully cared for — exactly what we love about travelling through places like the Northern Cape.

Sometimes it’s the little things that make a place memorable. ❤️

Today we took on the Darling Brew Wildflower Trail Run – 15km!

What a beautiful way to spend a Saturday! Running through the incredible Darling countryside.

15km is not just about putting one foot in front of the other… it’s about pushing yourself, enjoying the scenery, laughing along the way and being grateful that we can get out there and experience it.

A few tough climbs, plenty of kilometres, a lot of fresh air — and that feeling when you finally cross the finish line!

15km DONE!

Another adventure in the books. Because life is too short to stay indoors — get outside, explore and make memories!

Konrad is back at the computer, redesigning, tweaking and fine-tuning — and he’s already at Version F!

Every little detail matters. The Boma has to be right before it gets out into the world.

There’s no rushing the process. No shortcuts. Just a lot of thinking, designing and probably a few “let’s change that” moments!

The MadKon Boma is still a work in progress. When Konrad is happy with the final product, then — and only then — it will be launched.
