Chainsaws are handy, hard-working tools, but they can also be very dangerous.
Basic rules for working with chainsaws:
1. Keep a steady grip on both handles on the chainsaw.
2. Stand with your feet apart. To achieve the best possible balance, put your left foot slightly in front of your right foot.
3. Do not work with a curved spine, bend your knees instead when working in low positions.
4. Do not be afraid of the saw! Hold it close to your body for better balance and to make the saw feel less heavy.
5. When moving in several steps, you should activate the chain brake/turn off the engine, or fit the guide bar guard if you moving in longer distance.
6. Make sure that no one is closer than 3–5m of you when working with a chainsaw. During tree felling, a greater safety distance is required.
PLEASE NOTE: It is very IMPORTANT to wear safety gear.
