The year started with me making quilts from solid coloured fabrics. The first was a lovely pattern I got with an accompanying puzzle using wonderful warm and cool solid fabrics.
The second was for my daughter’s graduation.
These 2 quilts produced a lot of quilting scraps (large & small triangular off cuts). I offered them to ladies and everyone said ‘no thanks’, as I think they were plain solids and triangles. So as they say, when life throws you scraps, make a quilt😂

There is also a story behind every quilt.
So besides not wanting to throw away beautiful expensive cotton fabric, I also needed to retain my sanity:
My daughter got a black Labrador puppy, named Poppy.
She is gorgeous but a land piranha!!!
It is up to my hubby and I to work in our shop and keep our house in tact!
Even sewing is a big effort as anything on the ground is eaten or damaged.
In desperation to maintain my sanity I needed to sew. So I disconnect the foot of my sewing machine and sew on slow speed on a high up surface!!!
This is why I called it ORGANISED CHAOS.
I was able to make this quilt but it has taken 3 months of perseverance 🥴😁

Binding and a label are one of the last finishing touch left to complete your quilt. This is an excellent video showing how to make a two time binding. Practice and you have the freedom to make a back and front quilt different colours
