Beautiful design must still work beautifully in real life!
A space can look fresh, modern and beautifully designed — but if the materials chosen cannot withstand the reality of the environment, the design has failed the customer experience.
Light upholstered seating may photograph beautifully, but in a busy restaurant, hotel or public space, it must also be practical, durable and easy to maintain.
And if the fabric is suitable, then the question becomes whether the cleaning and maintenance standards are keeping up with the level of experience being sold.
Because when I sit down and immediately notice marks, grime or tired upholstery, it changes how I feel about the entire establishment.
It affects my appetite.
It affects my comfort.
It affects how long I want to stay.
And it affects whether the price feels justified.
Especially when the meal itself is not inexpensive.
This is not about expecting perfection. It is about ensuring that the design, material selection and maintenance plan all support the experience the customer is paying for.
A chair is never just a chair.
It becomes part of the meal, the atmosphere and the memory of the visit.
