Cape Town Furniture Week is a 4-day festival for contemporary furniture, lighting and homeware in the heart of the city.

The third annual edition of Cape Town Furniture Week takes place from 19 to 22 February 2025.

For Cape Town Furniture Week this year, Bofred Feature Furniture debuted their CICADA collection at their Harrington Street showroom.

“CICADA is a collection shaped by expansive stillness and bold noonday light. Inspired by heat-worn air and alabaster glare, it brings together quiet, tactile objects in brushed metals and softened textures. Sculptural, restrained, and enduring, it is light, gathered, and held.”

As a special installation at 107 Castle Street for Cape Town Furniture Week, Weylandts and StudioLandt launched their collaboration with The Mill Artisan Weaving | Handwoven Wool Rugs.

“Our journey with The Mill took us to Stampriet, Namibia - where craft, community, and landscape are deeply intertwined. Immersed in the workshop, we learnt the weaving process firsthand, working with Swakara wool from fibre to finished piece alongside the artisans who bring each design to life.⁠

Inspired by the remarkable nests of the sociable weaver - living, collective architectures shaped over generations - this collection became a reflection of shared making, resilience, and belonging. Through experimentation, timber elements were integrated and intentionally left within the weave, echoing the branches that support these nests in nature.⁠

What emerged is more than a woven piece - it is a story of place, process, and people, carried through every texture and every thread.”

For Cape Town Furniture Week this year, Bronze Age Studio and NØDE collaborated with SETT & BEAT on an exhibition rooted in material exploration, examining the intersection of cast bronze, machined metal, and handwoven fibre.

Titled ‘Confluence’, the exhibition was located within a pop-up gallery space at Cape Town’s port, where heavy sculptural forms were shown alongside suspended textile structures.

As a part of the programme, Bronze Age’s Otto du Plessis and Charles Haupt shared insight into their practice and latest work, moderated by Justus van der Hoven (Justus van der Hoven).

Behind the facade of one of Loop Street’s most historic buildings is the atelier of Gozdava 1590. The local perfumery is one of Cape Town’s best kept secrets, creating unique scents inspired by travel and fantasy.

Alongside their range of products you’ll also find a collection of objects gathered over years of travel to all corners of the world.

On the occasion of Cape Town Furniture Week in February, C U R A C I Ó N __ COLLECTION hosted the official launch of the brand’s new Orphan Street gallerie at CURACIÓN HOUSE.

A few steps from Upper Bree Street, CURACIÓN HOUSE offers a glimpse into the world that the brand and design studio strive to create through the products and spaces they create.

One of the standout collaborations at Cape Town Furniture Week this year was that between MUNGO and James Mudge Furniture Studio.

Mungo launched their new Miro Cloth through a playful in-store installation of upholstered Harrington Chairs by James Mudge Furniture Studio.

Woven at the Mungo Mill in Plettenberg Bay, the design of the Miro Cloth is based on a traditional upholstery weaving method called Overshot, combining wool, mohair and silk to create a fabric that balances strength, softness, and durability.

The collaboration is one grounded in shared values — both businesses originate from the Garden Route, with practices that prioritise longevity, material integrity, and thoughtful design.

At Clerkenwell Design Week in May, Woodbender exhibited the new Scoop 33 Chair, walking away with the prestigious titles of both Best of Clerkenwell and Best Craftsmanship for 2026.

The recognition of the Scoop 33 Chair is testament to innovation that Woodbender has combined with the traditional steam-bending techniques that they specialise in.

The Scoop 33 Chair was originally launched at Cape Town Furniture Week in February, and was a finalist in the CTFW x VISI Design Prize.

Well done to the Woodbender team for doing South African design proud!

We’re starting to share some highlights from Cape Town Furniture Week this year.

A standout for sure was the official launch of new Cape Town showroom, with new pieces by Kevin Frankental and Yaniv Chen.

The showroom is located at 24 Waterkant Street in central Cape Town, open by appointment Monday to Friday.
