We’re honoured to share that Kalahari Dunes has been selected as a finalist in the 2026 Architecture: Hotels, Resorts & Wellness category.

Thoughtfully integrated into its natural setting, Kalahari Dunes is shaped by a deep connection to the landscape, creating an experience that is both immersive and grounded in place.

This year’s finalists were announced at the Hunter International Forum in São Paulo, Brazil, where the shortlisted projects were exhibited for the first time. Being selected as a finalist is a meaningful recognition, placing Kalahari Dunes among a global collection of projects celebrated for their contribution to design. We are proud to be included in this year’s programme and extend our congratulations to our fellow finalists on this achievement.

Every project begins with a story.

In this conversation, Principals Mark Rielly and Nina Sierra Rubia discuss how visual appeal is never the starting point of a design. Instead, culture, context, architecture, and the client's lifestyle inform the interiors that feel most authentic, considered, and enduring.

From shaping narratives through design to drawing inspiration from local histories, they reflect on ARRCC's process of creating spaces with depth and meaning.
