Curved forms continue to shape contemporary bathroom design, bringing softness and a more sculptural feel to functional spaces.

In this shower, the built-in curved seat becomes a design feature in its own right. The vertical green tiles accentuate the form, while the pale stone-look surfaces keep the overall palette calm and refined. It’s a practical element, elevated through shape, colour, and detail.

Blue tiles paired with concrete or concrete-look finishes create a beautiful balance between colour and restraint. The cool, saturated tones of blue bring depth and personality, while the softer grey texture of concrete keeps the overall scheme grounded and contemporary.

It’s a combination that feels confident without being overpowering, and works especially well when layered with matte black, brushed metal, or natural timber finishes.

For us, good design is in the details. From the proportions of the cabinetry to the placement of lighting, the finish of the hardware, and the way materials meet, every element is considered as part of the whole.

It’s this attention to detail that creates spaces that feel cohesive, intentional, and beautifully resolved.

Green works beautifully in bathrooms because it brings a sense of calm, depth, and connection to nature. From soft sage to deep forest tones, it can feel fresh, sophisticated, and timeless when paired with the right materials and finishes.

Lighting is one of the most important elements in a well-designed bathroom.

It influences how the space feels, how materials and colours are perceived, and how comfortably the room functions throughout the day. A combination of ambient, task, and accent lighting can soften the space, highlight architectural details, and create a sense of warmth and depth.

Good lighting should never feel like an afterthought. It should be considered from the very beginning of the design process.

A serene bathroom at one of the Benguela Cove villas, designed around light, proportion, and a warm natural palette.

The timber vanity brings softness and texture to the space, while the sculptural basins and freestanding bath introduce clean, contemporary lines. Oversized mirrors amplify the natural light, and matte black fittings add just enough contrast to define the scheme.

The result is a bathroom that feels calm, spacious, and beautifully resolved.

Wallpaper can completely change the personality of a bathroom, especially when you’re willing to embrace something playful, unexpected, or a little more expressive.

In smaller spaces such as guest bathrooms and cloakrooms, a bold print can become the main design feature, adding colour, movement, and character without the need for excessive detailing elsewhere. Botanical, geometric, or whimsical patterns can all work beautifully when balanced with the right tiles, hardware, and lighting.

Used thoughtfully, wallpaper turns a practical room into a space with real personality.
