The kitchen at Rondebosch. A white stone island with the sink in it, teal bar stools, three white pendants overhead, and the oak dining table directly beyond, so cooking and eating happen in one sociable space.
Opening the core of the house made this possible: the island now looks through to the lounge and out to the garden. The fitted cupboards are deliberately plain, so the colour comes from the stools and the black branch chandelier over the table.

Rondebosch. Our clients had just bought a house with good bones and a great deal of potential, and brought us in right at the beginning to turn what they wanted into a plan they could actually build. The best possible moment to arrive.
The work was about unlocking the layout: decades of additions stripped out, the core of the house opened up for light and an easy flow. Warm flooring runs continuously through the new plan, crisp modern joinery sits over it, and textured soft furnishings keep the rooms from feeling new. The kitchen island, teal stools and three pendants, is now the heart of the house.

How furniture and lighting sourcing works with us. It is comprehensive: not just the furniture and the decorative lighting, but every fixture and finish the project needs – tiles, sanitaryware, custom cabinet finishes, architectural lighting.
Everything arrives as one fully itemised specification schedule for your sign-off before anything is ordered, so you see the whole picture before committing to any of it. Pictured: the Gardens apartment, where the wallpaper, the tiling, the lighting, the furniture and the objects on the shelves were all chosen in the same pass.

A proud one. We are in Home magazine, December 2025 / January 2026: the Simon's Town house we designed and project-managed is the issue's Reader Home, under the title Love at First Sight, and we wrote the expert-advice column that runs with it, on renovating a heritage home.
A two-bedroom Victorian in the village, and we took on all of it, plumbing and wiring included. Heritage rules meant the Victorian character stayed, so the plan was rearranged inside the existing walls: the kitchen rebuilt as the core, part of the lounge wall opened for a breakfast bar, half the stoep enclosed as a dining area onto the deck, the old dining room turned into the main bathroom under a skylight, a guest loo added. The original Oregon pine floors were restored and set against vibrant, modern finishes.

The kitchen and the bathroom in the Gardens apartment share one idea, carried in tile rather than paint. Pink and cream cabinet fronts over a diamond-tiled splashback with dark granite worktops in the kitchen; a diamond dado in teal and cream running round the bathroom behind the bath, with a black-framed mirror over the basin.
The shape repeats and the colours change – enough to make two small rooms feel like a pair without either of them matching. The kind of quiet connection we love building into a home.

A LITTLE COLOUR, A LITTLE CHARACTER, AND A TOUCH OF KHOISAN HERITAGE. 🌿
This Gardens Airbnb was all about creating a space with personality. We played with Khoisan-inspired wallpaper, playful colours, rattan and layered textures to give the apartment its own unique character.
From painted furniture to the refreshed bathroom tiles, we had fun reworking existing elements and adding unexpected touches along the way. Every room was designed to feel connected, with the covered balcony adding that perfect little spot to unwind after a day in Cape Town.
A colourful, character-filled city escape, designed to feel anything but ordinary.

The part of a project that happens on the last day, and the part we look forward to most. In the Gardens apartment: wooden blocks and pillar candles on a brass tray, a Cape Town guidebook on the round coffee table, three framed prints over the dining table, cushions in blue, cream and woven texture along the sofa.
Our sourcing covers the fixtures and finishes as well as the furniture, right down to the pieces you actually pick up. It is the layer that decides whether a room looks arranged or feels lived in, and we never rush it.

The two bedrooms in the Gardens apartment. Green painted headboards against the ikat wall in the main room; terracotta ones above a patterned half-wall in the twin room, with a green bedside chest between the beds and wall lamps either side.
Painting a headboard instead of upholstering it keeps a small bedroom light, and the colour can match the wallpaper exactly. The rest is soft and quiet: embroidered cream cushions, a framed line drawing, a waffle blanket across the end of the bed.

Stonehurst – family home renovation. The kitchen, the living spaces, the upstairs bedrooms and bathrooms.
Herringbone runs through every room and holds it all together, and the kitchen, navy and cream with brushed gold, is the heart of the home.

Two walls do most of the work in the Gardens apartment: a rock-art wallpaper panel running behind the sofa and through to the twin bedroom door, and an ikat pattern across the main bedroom's headboard wall.
We love wallpaper for how much it settles in one decision – the palette, somewhere for the eye to go, and it wears well in a home used by guests. The blue fluted sideboard, the round timber mirror and the brass bedside lamp were then chosen to sit quietly against it.
